Office

Estela, the head of the managers of the multinational agency where we are now, welcomes us warmly. Her voice is subtle and we must please be quiet to hear her words even though we are just a few meters away. _{She does this on purpose so that we pay more attention and make less noise with our daily things.}

Yes, that is right, you are also next to her, in her office. If you haven't realized it yet, you are in the same movie as our hostess of the story that starts now. Luckily, I also have an entrance to the same one, to the story that may be nonsense, made up or true, only those who have now entered here will know it. But don't tell anyone too many details, that would be like a spoiler. We don't even know how it will end because history is written together, and so it will be in this case too. The ending is not really determined yet.

A few moments ago when we stepped into her office we found her standing next to a telephone and a large mirror. That is her favourite place to be while having a conversation with one client. On the other side of the room, there is an equally large window; from here she watches the street from time to time and spies on her clients and collaborators leaving the office. That is how she witnessed the other day the mishap of one of them, Camelia.

Camelia is a piano teacher, but yes, she collaborates in the life of this organization sometimes. Well, it was a Thursday afternoon; she ran out into the street even though Estela told her not to lose her mind... well, the rest of it wasn't heard because Camelia was no longer in the building.

She ran in the rain, soaked, struggled for a while with the umbrella that had just broken and crossed crowds of people who stopped in the middle of the sidewalk for no reason to finally get to her car. The umbrella was big, and since it didn't open or close completely either - a strange thing, without sense, like half open if I explain, there was no way to store it in her vehicle. She had to break it completely, on purpose so she could continue.

One student was waiting for her, that is why she had been in such a hurry. Daria hugged her teacher tightly when she arrived at her house, ignoring the rain and Camelia's soaked coat. It was a special moment because this girl had not had a lesson for several weeks due to a change in the schedule. Sorry, sorry my dear that I can no longer come on days like before. We will find a solution, somehow...

Although Camelia was mostly a realist, she loved to play with an idea that another student had told her. He expressed his wish to write a song for her as Paul McCartney wrote for Lennon's son Julian, the very famous Hey Jude. He would give her all the economic benefits of the royalties and in that case, she would not need to work anymore, just to visit some students from time to time.

So, Estela was advising Camelia about this issue, the reason they had the meeting the other day. As the head of all the managers, she is also the one who makes the final decision about the funds for different projects and gives her judgement about legal agreements and deals between different clients. That is why we are seeing now her organizing all the archives and folders. She is a busy woman so we can call ourselves lucky as she gave us the welcome at the beginning of this post.

As far as I can tell, the agency works to improve the education and health system in many parts of the world, they organize events to promote art and culture and they support innovative ideas but also conventional values. One of the most important activities is to raise awareness about the environment and the care of animals, from the smallest ones like ants, grasshoppers or mice to the largest and wildest ones like lynxes. She recently gave her hand to save a majestic Felidae with its striped fur, a white tigress.

And that is not all. Estela also coordinates the work of measuring seismic waves around the globe. It helps to recognize the moment when an earthquake or volcanic eruption is expected. She says Vesuvius is safe right now so we can visit it. To make the trip easier we can do it through music.

The phone is ringing. Estela will pick the phone up as it is a call from over the rainbow. And we have to leave her office anyway... a musical office, if I can notice as we have listened to several pieces. We have spent too much time there even though the story is not finished - it is just writing itself in the office with or without us inside it.
