I admit it, I'm a fan of alternative rock.... Here are my recommendations

Courtesy-Source-by...

I grew up with a totally different concept of what music was. That is to say, the influences of my home were diametrically opposed to what I ended up liking from adolescence to these days of adulthood and recognition. As a child, my mother, and my family in general, were extremely traditionalist. For those who do not understand what it means to be traditional in Venezuela, I give you a small sample: native music, some well-known boleros and above all a lot of merengue and some salsa.... That was all, haha.

The classic Christmas carols at the end of each year, that is to say in December, and basically any commercial hit that was in fashion at that time/moment. The summary I have made, embodies perfectly well the type of music, the frequency of its playful impact and above all, the way it was heard.... However, I always felt like an outsider, someone who didn't fit in the traditionalist and pretended model of anything, even less of music...

Even as a little girl, I remember marveling at Cher's music, just to give a very small example. I adored watching her on TV. Beautiful, stunning, produced, powerful. I think my sense of vanity/eroticism had to have started at that moment. What a beautiful and talented woman in equal parts. But we're talking totally classic pop. The theme I wish to develop is my unconditional love, and at the same time, my weakness for alternative rock. This "story" begins with Blur, the English band....

"Coffee and TV" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I'd argue it to anyone, anywhere, anytime from ..... And the impact of their music video on my life was awesome. I remember being so into it, so immersed in the power of the journey that poor little milk carton takes, that it tears at my soul to think about how it ends.... I will leave throughout the post, the musical repertoire that inspired my passion for this genre, guys.

At the same time, the impact and transcendence that Depeche Mode had for me, is something that I don't know how to put into words. And it is curious, that an effect that I feel so strongly, is proportionally impossible for me to detail. It's crazy, but life gives you but it also takes away, friends... Haha, returning to our wanderings, I can add that Tame Impala and also The Strokes, have been groups that I find captivating. They mix the best that electronic atmosphere can offer with the power and sensibility of rock.

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, haha, I remembered a great song that I will leave here for all of you: it's by a band from Venezuela, called Arawato but please, guys, I implore you to pay attention to the level of voice and execution in the lyrics of this song: it's called "Suplentes", and ouch! as a woman, I can assure you that this kind of music has much more impact. Let me clarify, this particular band sings in Spanish, so for those of you who are not fluent in the language, it will be a little difficult.... And no, it is not available with English subtitles.

I couldn't forget to mention the great group of this more alternative rock and roll option, the masters, the unforgettable Oasis... Oh, what a peace those guys give.... I could put together, not one but four posts dedicated to them! but I don't want my little fanatic heart to get carried away either. But yes, they have also been an important part of my life, of my musical tastes and the way of understanding the sounds that only this genre (I insist on this) can create.

I'll tell you an anecdote to finish and not to extend too much for today... I started in rock with Linkin Park. As a teenager, I had a bad crush on the vocalist, Chester Bennington, but then I was blown away by the sound, the restraint, the beauty and the diversity of style that alternative rock could offer me. I, a girl with a remarkable sensitivity, clearly could not limit myself to the angry and strong aspect that sometimes rock, as a genre, is capable of showing. I have nothing against it, in fact, I love it, but never like the music I have left here for all of you. I know that you will understand me and above all, that if you decide to listen to the songs, you will be happier. And that's the idea.

I hope you enjoy the story, the post and above all the music and alternative rock recommendations I leave for you guys. Thanks for reading me, and remember: passion is not negotiable. We are who we are, always.

¡Holiiis @vicsomet!
