Today, I present to you my acoustic version of “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato, a song that expresses the pain of seeing an ex-partner move on with someone else. It’s essentially a sung monologue of internal struggle, where the person tries to stay strong and show strength to the world while suffering from attachment. Therefore, I believe it fits perfectly with this week’s theme.🖤

Ever since I got to know Demi (back in the Camp Rock days), she became one of my favorite singers.🤩 She has the particularity of writing and singing raw songs about personal and universal experiences that resonate with the listener. “Stone Cold” is no exception. I fell in love with this song from the first time I heard it in the year of its release. Besides emotionally connecting with it at that time, I found it to be a very strong and intense piece, with an incredible composition where pop and soul merge, and a wonderful base instrumentation for that intense main melody, combining many dynamics in the voice, a lot of technique, and most importantly, a lot of emotionality.

I believe that singing this song without emotional involvement would be the worst thing that could happen to this work of art. That’s why, in this interpretation, I deeply involved myself, while also working hard on my technique to make everything flow as healthily and smoothly as possible, without losing the song’s absolute intention.

Technically, it’s a very challenging song, so I had to take my time and rest properly. The days I first tried to record this were a complete disaster, haha😅. It was really difficult to face this when vocally I wasn’t at my best (I hadn’t slept enough, I was anxious and stressed), so it took me about 3 days and more than 15 takes to make this version as clean as possible from start to finish.

Resting helped me to own the song and get involved without losing my technique. If you pay attention to the details, you’ll notice that I played a bit more with the vocal dynamics and intentions, to give it a soft start that grew more evident as it progressed to the climax of the song.💫

I am very proud of this work.💖 I like to strive to give my best at all times, so I hope you can experience this moment of vulnerability just as I lived it when interpreting this song for you.🎤

¡Hola! Bienvenidos a mi blog y a mi participación en la Vibes Web3 Music Competition en su semana 12, cuya temática es el dolor. 💔😔

Hoy les presento mi versión acústica de “Stone Cold” de Demi Lovato, una canción que expresa el dolor al ver a una expareja seguir adelante con otra persona. Es básicamente un monólogo cantado de lucha interna, donde la persona intenta mantenerse y mostrarse fuerte ante el mundo, mientras sufre por el apego. Por ello, considero que encaja perfectamente con la temática de esta semana.🖤

Desde que conocí a Demi (en la época de Camp Rock), se convirtió en una de mis cantantes favoritas.🤩 Ella tiene la particularidad de escribir y cantar canciones crudas sobre experiencias personales y universales que resuenan con quien la escucha. “Stone Cold” no es la excepción. Me enamoré de esta canción desde la primera vez que la escuché en el año de su lanzamiento. Además de conectar emocionalmente con ella en ese momento, me pareció una pieza muy fuerte e intensa, con una composición increíble donde se fusionan el pop y el soul, y una instrumentación de base maravillosa para esa melodía principal intensa, que combina muchas dinámicas en la voz, mucha técnica y, lo más importante, mucha emotividad.

Creo que cantar esta canción sin involucrarse emocionalmente sería lo peor que podría pasarle a esta obra de arte. Por eso, en esta interpretación, me involucré profundamente, al mismo tiempo que me esforcé en mi técnica para que todo fluyera de la manera más sana y fluida posible, sin perder la intención absoluta de la canción.

Técnicamente, es una canción muy desafiante, por lo que tuve que tomarme mi tiempo y descansar adecuadamente. Los días que intenté grabar esto por primera vez fueron un completo desastre, jaja😅. Fue realmente difícil enfrentar esto cuando vocalmente no estaba en mi mejor forma (no había dormido lo suficiente, estaba con ansiedad y estrés), así que me tomó unos 3 días y más de 15 tomas para poder realizar esta versión lo más limpia posible de principio a fin.

Descansar me ayudó a adueñarme de la canción e involucrarme sin perder mi técnica. Si se fijan en los detalles, notarán que jugué un poco más con las dinámicas e intenciones vocales, para darle un inicio suave que fuera creciendo de manera más evidente a medida que se avanza hasta el clímax de la canción.💫

Me siento muy orgullosa de este trabajo.💖 Me gusta esforzarme por dar lo mejor de mí en todo momento, así que espero que puedan experimentar este momento de vulnerabilidad tal como lo viví yo al interpretar esta canción para ustedes.🎤
