Esta interpretación de Benny Sings no es tan fiel a la original, pero tenía que hacerla así para el Hive Music Festival. Igual les dejo la letra con los acordes por si quieren intentarlo en la guitarra.

Recuerdo la primera vez que escuché esta canción. Fue en un apartamento —ya ni recuerdo de quién— y me gustaba sentarme ahí, sin prisas, a buscar música nueva. Había descubierto cómo reproducir audio con un buen subwoofer y de pronto todo sonaba distinto: más profundo, más físico. Esta canción me atrapó de inmediato. Creo que tiene otra versión, un cover de Drake que se llama "Passionfruit", sí, esa misma. Justo ahora la voy a buscar de nuevo, creo que le han hecho muchísimas versiones a esa canción.

Pero quizás para mí esta sea la más interesante de todas. Este video, junto con el de "Nobody's Fault", comparten esa vibra fría y medio oculta, como de callejones de Europa del Este en invierno. Sí, entiendo que Benny se ve algo descuidado, pero ¿quién quiere bañarse con esas temperaturas? Creo que es un video muy casual, grabado en ese estudio hermético, con una calefacción que debe ser bien interesante, de esas que apenas sacan el frío del aire.

Investigando un poco, leo que Benny es neerlandés y que tiene diez álbumes. ¡Diez! Y yo apenas llevo como tres canciones escuchadas. Definitivamente hay tarea pendiente. En fin, espero que les guste.

This rendition of Benny Sings isn't as faithful to the original, but I had to do it this way for the Hive Music Festival. I'm leaving the lyrics with the chords anyway, in case you want to try it on guitar.

I remember the first time I heard this song. It was in an apartment — I can't even remember whose — and I liked to sit there, unhurried, looking for new music. I had discovered how to play audio through a good subwoofer and suddenly everything sounded different: deeper, more physical. This song grabbed me right away. I think there's another version, a Drake cover called "Passionfruit", yeah, that one. Right now I'm going to look for it again, I think there have been so many versions of that song.

But maybe for me, this one is the most interesting of all. This video, along with the one for "Nobody's Fault", share that cold, somewhat hidden vibe, like Eastern European alleyways in winter. Yeah, I get that Benny looks a bit unkempt, but who wants to shower in those temperatures? I think it's a very casual video, shot in that airtight studio, with a heater that must be pretty interesting — the kind that barely takes the chill off the air.

Doing a little research, I read that Benny is Dutch and has ten albums. Ten! And I've only heard like three songs. Definitely some homework to do. Anyway, hope you like it.
