Hello Music Lovers✨

What is today's date? 8th of August. And what is celebrated on the 8th of August?. International Cats Day! (It's amusing how I asked and answered all my questions by myself). This post about my cats has been long overdue and so I decided to officially write about them today. What better way to demonstrate love than through music?

My theme for today would be cats. I do not know how many people are pet owners or lovers but one thing I know is that if you have any sort of pet around, then you're awesome. I got my cats some time around October last year and I'm totally amazed at their growth curve so far. They were both really cute but entertaining kittens and now they have grown to become fine cats.

So many songs have been released to honour these lovely animals and I'd be sharing three of them with you.

Stray Cats Strut– Stray Cats

Released in 1981, this is one song that makes you look classy if you're called a cat. I'm certain if cats could interpret every single line of this song, they would keep it on repeat all day long.

Stray Cats strut is a song about a street cat who is penniless but still struts with so much confidence. The cat in question is a ladies' man who isn't interested in chasing mice. This song is generally a fête of confidence. The lyrics encourage people to live by their own terms even if it's against societal expectations.

Stray Cats is a band of three who specialise in rockabilly. And all I can say about them is that they are amazing. There is so much life and hope in the tunes.

Everybody Wants To Be A Cat–Aristocat

I know. I know. You do not agree with the title of this song. Or do you?. Believe me when I say that being a cat is fluffing cool.

This song was used in the Disney movie "everybody wants to be a cat" released in 1970. It basically talks about how being a cat can be paw-some because of the natural grace and coolness they possess.

I mean, wouldn't you want to be able to be the centre of attraction when you enter a room? Or rather, wouldn't you want to be able to wigggle your tail?

Cool cats–Queen

Talking about how cool cats are, Queen has a few words to chirp in too. Cool cats is a song generally about being confident in your own skin. We live in a world where everyone has their opinions and anyone who chose to abide by the opinions of the world wouldn't exude any form of confidence. Which is better? Feeling confident or tentative?

You would agree with me that aside from the encouraging lyrics, Queen has amazing vocals and the instruments just go perfectly with her voice.

These are the three tunes I put together for the cats in my life–Yin and Yang. I would eventually play these songs to their hearing and I hope they enjoy it, hehe.

Oh I do love some Stray Cats. Brian Setzer is one of my favourite musicians - his work with the Brian Setzer Orchestra is really a whole lot of fun. And who doesn't like Queen?
