What If.gif

Exactly one year ago I posted part 10 of this series:

Letter To My Son - Part 10 - The End?

I wrote you 10 chapters filled with stories, pictures, and songs for your 18th Birthday, and I promised to write a new one each year.

Your 19th Birthday

The last time I saw you was your Birthday two years ago. We met up with your friends and a week or two later you were off to the United States.

Time flies and so did you.

Tenessee is not really near Granada but I feel that we are just as close today as we were when you left.

In this last year, we had a few chats and how many calls? Four, if it´s a lot.

I told you how my Dad keeps asking about you and he does not get our way. It´s not about quantity but about quality. And quality like happiness comes in small doses.

What is most important is that you are happy, and it sounds like you still pick the US over Spain so in that case I am happy too.

Very Few Pictures

This year we did not see each other and so there are very few pictures, basically none. But there is one I want to share.

Your Pal Patito

You got him for your second birthday and he has been there for 17 years. I always gave you a little update, but no more.

I was glad to hear you agreed that it was his time to go, the pobrecito.

Working Class Hero

I am so impressed, you started your job almost a year ago, and you are still there. You are actually the most senior kitchen staff already.

Where did you get that work ethic? I mean there are so many snowflakes nowadays that would not do what you do and see it how you see it.

I think we agree on the vision, that this is a step up and this is how you prove to the world and yourself that you can do this. A guy your age with that attitude will go a long way.

It was great to see that attitude pay off and you getting your first dish on the menu. I really had a proud Daddy moment when you told me that story.

How I loved how you came up with it and guided them during the fine-tuning and even got over any pride when they decided to make some very necessary changes. Because that is what it is about, the result is all that matters and you know where it came from.

This is only a first but it underlines that you are on the right road following your passion, and having a plan.

BTW I was thinking you said they had no Kebab places around, maybe you and I should start one Dutch Döner, I mean come on no Kebab?

Anyway buddy I think you are doing a great job.

Dad´s Advice

Nobody wants a piece of Dad's Advice, but it´s still giving freely.

It´s a short one, and you can forget about it but I just wanted to let you know.

Don´t fall for the rat race already.

I know you don´t, I know you have a plan.
I know this is just a temporary thing, but there are many that started a temporary thing and fell for the money trap.

There will come enough times in your life you have to work for your money in some shape or form but always try to work with a vision, a plan. Knowing and visualizing where it will take you.

Don´t work to pay the bills, and overspend because you hate your working life,,,because that is what they want you to do.

But if you can a job you love, a job that gives you positive energy and teaches you things you enjoy learning. You will be able to keep your head positive and above the ocean of debt.

Talking Music

The one thing that has kept us close these last couple of years is our love for music. Maybe it was mom, maybe it was your Daddy DJ but you have developed a great taste in music. You always had it as far as I can remember although I got a bit tired of this one, you played it non-stop when you were like seven.

But nowadays I can't wait to check out your tunes.

And I love how you made me a Playlist!

In which I found this guy, I used him in one of my stories or playlists I had a big smile seeing such an obscure musician appear on your list.

And I love that you put crazy cool fun stuff like this in it!

So I could not stay behind, every week I add a new song to this playlist. It will be the favorite from the playlist I created that week.

It´s on YouTube:
𝕄𝕚𝕕𝕟𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝔾𝕖𝕞𝕤 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 - E01 Songs For My Son

And Spotify:

Happy Birthday!

Congrats Buddy, I hope it was a great year. I think you did awesome and I am sure this one will even be better....

Don't take this next one too seriously I thought it was a nice sentimental one to end this letter.

Once again I am a proud Dad Kyrian-Elijah a very happy and proud Dad to have a son like you. I will call you in a bit!

The End (For Now)

You son is doing just fine making a life for himself in the United States. And that's because you raised him well. And I wish him happy birthday and many more years of good health and success. Rest assured your dream for him to become a huge success in the future will definitely come true.

Time flies indeed, I can't believe it's a year already I read your previous letter to your son and I loved it very much.

It's seems like you are doing a great job with your son. I wish that all his dreams come true, I wish him a successful and very happy life.

Your dad advice sound like the best advice any kids will need to hear from his dad. It's something I learned to applied to my life from a very young age and I'm always happy I did.

Cheers 🥂 to you and your son, I wish him a happy birthday 🎈 and I wish you great health and long life to watch his dreams come true.

Happy (belated?) birthday to Kyrian!

It seems that he's doing very well over there and that you're taking it well that he's happy there, which is clearly the most important thing. How cool that he gets his own dish on the menu!

And poor Patito, pobrecito indeed, but I think you did the right thing, he should not suffer, he had a great life with you and it was his time to go.
