Which album from the Eagles made it onto my turntable for the first time?

Exactly! The Desperados from Los Angeles. Has it been my disc? No! Because until then, I'd always given the guys from California a wide berth, as I'd actually put them more towards Texas (in terms of musical style). Not necessarily the sound for ‘the European ear’, which listened much more to the music of Led Zeppelin, Frumpy, Amon Düül and The Nice.
But when the vinyl disc comes from the woman who doesn't just make your ears glow, it's easy to change your tastes in a hurry.
As nothing has changed in my feelings for that lady since those days and she has remained musically loyal to the Eagles, there was no escape for me.
Incidentally, in contrast to the harmonious sounds for which the band is known, Don Henly is a rather difficult contemporary who is notorious for his rude behaviour towards the other members of the band.

Welches Album der Eagles schaffte es erstmals auf meinen Plattenteller?

Exakt! Die Desperados aus Los Angeles. War es meine Scheibe? Nein! Denn ich machte bis dahin stets einen größeren Bogen um die Jungs aus Kalifornien, die ich (vom musikalischen Stil) eigentlich eher in Richtung Texas verschoben hätte. Also nicht unbedingt der Klang für „das europäische Ohr“, welches viel mehr den Klängen von Led Zeppelin, Frumpy, Amon Düül und The Nice lauschte.
Wenn dann allerdings die Vinylscheibe aus dem Besitz der Frau stammt, die nicht nur deine Ohren zum Glühen bringen, dann ändert man schon gerne mal seinen Geschmack im Eiltempo.
Da sich seit jenen Tagen an den Gefühlen zu jener Dame nichts verändert hat und sie ihrerseits auch den Eagles musikalisch treu geblieben ist, gab es für mich kein Entrinnen mehr.
Übrigens - ganz im Kontrast zu den harmonischen Klängen, für die die Band bekannt ist, gilt Don Henly als ein recht schwieriger Zeitgenosse, der für seinen rüden Umgang mit den anderen Mitgliedern der Formation berühmt-berüchtigt ist.
