Awakening - an invitation to create with me...

An update on my album project and info about the next preview stream and how to get involved if you are a visual artist...

What is this?

An album with a difference, as it will be part of a larger collaborative project woven into a story. I'm inviting writers and visual artists to join me in creating a multidisciplinary body of work, blending music, narrative, and visual art.

What's new?

The album project now has a name! Awakening - which is also the provisional name of the first track. There is a possibility this could change - but it captures two important aspects of story - one being that it begins with an android "awakening" from a shut down and damaged state in a crash site. And the second being that a key motivation for the character is that they are discovering who they are and their place in the world - and thus experiencing an 'awakening'.

What we don't have yet is a name for the android/main character. Ideas welcome at this point!

What's next?

This week I'm especially looking for any visual artists that want to get involved with the project. Any kind of visual art goes - as long as it fits somehow with the premise of the story.

How to get involved

1. Download the 6 track preview of the album that also has more info about joining the project here.
2. Create something and send it to me here.
3. If you like, come to the special preview and art focused stream I'm doing this Wednesday on Twitch at 9pm BST / 10pm CEST / 4pm EDT / 1pm PDT. The stream will likely be previewing tracks that I'm working on that AREN'T in the 6 track downloadable preview and include further development on those tracks that are in it.

Rules

The only rules for artwork contributions are:

1. It has to fit somewhat into the premise of the broken down android on a desolate planet (you can be pretty creative beyond that though - like invent a completely different character that also lives on a desolate planet - but you have to at least have an explanation of how it fits into that premise - maybe the more wild your creation, the more creative you have to be in your explanation! e.g. if you make cuddly llamas in green fields you should come up with a really great story of how that possibly fits into the broken down android on desolate planet narrative!)

2. If you use AI - say you have done so. (when I create the website for the album I may separate AI generated art from non AI generated)

Story

Here's the story premise again:

An android awakens in the wreckage of a crashed spacecraft on a desolate, alien planet. Severely damaged and with only a fraction of its former capabilities, it struggles to regain functionality. Initially disoriented it sets out, driven by an innate curiosity and the desire to understand its environment—and itself.

and there is a first draft of a Prologue for the story in the downloadable 6 track preview.

Project goal

The goal of all this is to publish everything on a website as a body of work in various art forms: music, visual and story. I will also be doing live streams on Twitch and a physical album launch gig that may feature your creations.
