Yeah, me too! I play the piano, and the guitar, the violin, the mandolin... although I do not talk about it much here. I'm glad to know that you took piano lessons as a child. Dad and Mom believed in the "total person", so you will not believe what other things they required me to do, hehehe!

I was fortunate to have grown up in a cultured environment, one in which personal values were demonstrated and taught. My parents were not very well off, so they went without to ensure we had what they felt were the tools to carry us into adulthood with a greater chance of being the right people to find our own paths. It worked.
I'm not surprised to read you have had a musical background and I'm sure those other things you mention have had a lot of influence on you also. In my experience, those who have had such opportunities tend to be more well-rounded, more vibrant and engaging.
