A historical fact: in the 70s and early 80s, listening to foreign music in Cuba was frowned upon by the government, it was considered ""Ideological diversionism" and many of the international bands of the time were banned. This caused rebellion among young people, and they listened to the records secretly... Horrible things happened because of that.

Our music back then appeared to arrive without too much problem, a little later than other countries, not played on local radio.
Where we experienced a lot of "banning" was movies, many were taken off screen within a day of going on.
Made us learn not to trust authority more than most I think, not unhealthy considering what is happening currently.

Yes, I see it the same way, the ban has dire consequences. We are going through a truly hellish period here. There is no respect for the government, and corruption is brutal.
