That's awesome to hear of your Tales of a true Pianist. I have to admit ( though I refuse to feel regret) I only reached Grade 3 by the age of 13 as I pushed my way from further lessons to more freedom as I saw it at the time. But what I never achieved for this reason, I still very much admire in those who did stay the distance.

I know so many who stopped playing an instrument, some regret it and some do not, it's a personal thing I guess. I think it's good to have had that grounding though, so many do not have the chance.

I learned so much during these few years of theory lessons that I am still grateful for. I play guitar and am happy so all is good. Maybe yet I will hone my keyboard skills some.

The guitar is something that always eluded me...I mean, I had one, but the skills to play it were something that escaped me. I played the bass guitar though (averagely well) so that's something.
