Alternative Space - 02 Interstellar Crossing / Music&Story prod. by @rahipro

A distant point was barely visible in the void, that tiny spark fading into the distance was Earth. Several months into their journey, the crew was beginning to understand the magnitude of this odyssey. This was not a simple crossing of a sea or a continent; they were venturing into interstellar space.

The colonists often gathered in the command room at Commander Rachel's request. They looked out through a huge glass window at a parade of stars like distant beacons. “We are traveling along invisible routes,” she said, “but each star we see could represent our new home.” Who could deny it? Those words filled the crew with hope and helped them fight their fear.

The Star Arks were well equipped and capable of following the trajectories calculated by the artificial intelligence Beithos without any problems. But it is also true that each jump represented a great risk. The younger ones, in their innocence, saw only an exciting attraction: a flash, a jolt, and suddenly they found themselves in another part of the galaxy. Only the more experienced understood that a miscalculation could lose them in a void from which there would be no return.

A cluster of nebulae was the experience of the first interstellar crossing. The ships had to stop without thinking twice. Everyone fell silent, perplexed by the sight of gases of different colors moving like a curtain of fire. They had never witnessed anything so incredible and terrifying at the same time. It looked like a newly born universe.

Some conflicts began to arise in those early days. The main disagreement was whether to continue toward more promising systems or to stop right there and search for planets within the nebula. Uncertainty was running high, with everyone believing they were right, weakening the unity among the colonists.

One night, during a meeting, the oldest of the settlers, named Rodney, said in a trembling voice:
“Remember that there were those on Earth who crossed oceans in wooden ships. It is true that many did not arrive, but those who did disembark founded new nations. I proclaim this our new sea, so we must cross it, even if we do not know what awaits us on the other side.”

Those trembling but firm words touched all the colonists deeply. From then on, this journey was renamed “The Interstellar Crossing.” It was not a simple journey; it was humanity's final test. Its existence depended on its success.

Inside the ship, life took on a more dynamic rhythm. Work sessions, teaching programs, and even celebrations inspired by old customs but adapted to their new context were established: zero-gravity music festivals, floating dances, and storytelling about the Earth that once was.

But this did not mean that external dangers ceased to exist. On one occasion, while passing through an asteroid field, the flagship was struck on the side. The corridors echoed with the sound of the alarm. For hours on end, engineers and volunteers worked to repair the damage. It was at that precise moment that everyone truly understood that there was no possibility of rescue; they were alone in the cosmos. Fortunately for everyone, they made it through.

After eleven months of travel, Beithos announced the detection of a young star with several planets in its orbit. The news spread like wildfire, bringing new hope. “A new Sun,” murmured the colonists. The journey was bearing fruit.

From the control room, while admiring the glow of the new system, Rachel whispered to her second in command:
“We survived the crossing. Now comes the hardest part: deciding where to put down roots.”

Great that you continue! Now I really have to read the first part too. And I have to say: a awesome thing to hear the sound and read thru the story! Do you introduce yourself into the story one day, too? Like kind of a survivor of this story, the surviving reporter?

Don't hesitate to link the first parts under every article or create a collection post where you link every episode. I am pretty sure that as soon as someone is hooked he wants to go thru the whole story!

Cool think you do here! Damn! That' not only a lot of creative effort you do, but unique too. Bro, I wish sooo much any curators would discover your work... @curangel, @ocd, how about you? Look what this young man here is doing.

And I skip over to the first part now...

I never consumed something similar, not as text or combined with audio. But this is so inviting! Bro, rock on with this! I am sure that Hivians will find your content and honor it. I am looking forward to the next episodes and I hope you always will find great cliffhangers to pull the listeners into the next episode... Hyped!

Do you like to mention me under your postings? Wouls be great to not miss an episode! And a feedback to the length of the episode: I really like thi length. Music length fits pretty well with my reading speed and much longer I don't would welcome. But 2, 3, 5 minutes - sure that I can invest. Broooo, rock on! Hyped!
