Hola a todos

vamos a por la tercera entrega de "My Vinyls Collection", en esta ocasión se trata de un álbum muy especial, como todos los álbumes publicados por Bob Marley & The Wailers en vida. Y es que este artista, que creo que es conocido por todo el mundo y que necesita poca presentación, al mismo tiempo es un gran desconocido del público, ya que, injustamente, siempre se le ha relacionado con el consumo de marihuana. Es cierto que era un fumador empedernido e incluso uno de sus LPs lleva el título de "Kaya" pero Bob Marley, sobre todo, le cantó al amor a los demás, a la tierra, al respeto y a los derechos humanos. Las letras de sus canciones son auténticos manifiestos que llenaron de esperanza a millones de personas.

Sobra decir que es uno de mis discos favoritos y me alegro muchísimo de que no se haya perdido por el camino, como muchos otros como ya comenté en la primera publicación de esta serie. Más abajo podéis encontrar los enlaces de las publicaciones anteriores.

La música es como una máquina del tiempo, cuando escuchas una canción siempre te trae recuerdos y cuando has pasado mucho tiempo sin escucharla, llega a sorprender lo que puede llegar a desvelar del pasado. Según se hace uno mayor hay cosas que se van perdiendo en el olvido, pero en realidad siguen ahí, y nada mejor que la música para rescatar momentos. Sin duda este vinilo es de los que a mi, como un sacacorchos, saca los mejores recuerdos de mi vida.

Este long play es del año 1979, yo solo tenía 7 años en aquel momento, y aunque a esa edad ya resonaba Bob en mis oídos cuando mis hermanos lo pinchaban en el viejo tocadiscos de mi padre, ya que tenían varios álbumes, este disco lo compré bastante después de que se publicara, creo que fue en 1990 cuando pagué las 850 Pesetas (9$ al cambio) que me costó y que se puede ver en la etiqueta del precio pegada en la esquina superior derecha de la portada.

Como siempre, os dejo los enlaces de YouTube para que podáis escuchar el álbum completo y mi canción favorita del mismo, que en esta ocasión me ha costado elegir, ya que todas son increíbles. He elegido Wake Up and Live porque me gusta mucho como Bob Marley toca la guitarra y en este tema se marca un solo que me encanta, pero como en la canción original se pierde en el fundido os dejo también una versión en directo para que os podáis deleitar viéndole y escuchándole.

We are going for the third installment of "My Vinyls Collection", this time it is a very special album, like all the albums published by Bob Marley & The Wailers alive. And it is that this artist, who I think is known throughout the world and who needs little introduction, at the same time is a great unknown to the public, since, unfairly, he has always been associated with the consumption of marijuana. It is true that he was a chain smoker and even one of his LPs bears the title "Kaya" but Bob Marley, above all, sang about the love for others, for the land, for respect and for human rights. the lyrics of his songs are authentic manifestos that filled millions of people with hope.

Needless to say, it's one of my favorite albums and I'm very glad that it hasn't been lost along the way, like many others as I already mentioned in the first publication of this series. Below you can find the links of the previous publications.

Music is like a time machine, when you listen to a song it always brings back memories and when you haven't listened to it for a long time, it is surprising what it can reveal from the past. As one gets older, there are things that are lost in oblivion, but in reality they are still there, and nothing better than music to rescue moments. Without a doubt, this vinyl is one of those that, like a corkscrew, brings out the best memories of my life.

This long play is from 1979, I was only 7 years old at the time, and although at that age Bob already resounded in my ears when my brothers played it on my father's old record player, since they had several albums, I bought the album long after it was published, I think it was in 1990 when I paid the 850 Pesetas ($9 in change) that it cost me and that can be seen on the price tag attached to the upper right corner of the cover.

I have chosen Wake Up and Live because I really like how Bob Marley plays the guitar and in this song there is a solo that I love, but since in the original song it is lost in the fade I also leave you a live version so that you can delight watching and listening to him.
