Greetings to the amazing community! To the past winners and participants and to the amazing judges @lordbutterfly @verbal-d @silentscreamer 
 Its been a while and it would be a lie if i said i didnt miss this community. I took out sometime to invest in my original songs, ive written over 12 gospel songs and i finally started the production of two. In the past month i also participated in a major gospel competition here in nigeria (The Rising Stars) where out of thousands of people that put for it; i was privileged to come out the second runner up which i thank God for.
  It’s the Oldies! I’m excited for this week cos I connect deeply with songs of old. I love sonfs of this age cos it was the embodiment of soul, art and depth. So much so that at times you need to browse to understand what each song really means as those songs carried a lot of weight. 
  With my entry I pay tribute to Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and many more who were not only great singers but icons.

The first ever performance of Summertime was sung by American soprano Abbie Mitchell, composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the 1935 opera Porgy and Bess.
It’s a song I love so much and for this week I’ve decided to do a cover of this beautiful song in my own unique way. I hope you enjoy!
