One of the things I thank the universe for is having enjoyed my adolescence in a beautiful time, where there was no malice, where you could go anywhere at any time. I remember the aguinaldos masses, at dawn and the skates for which I almost lost my life, as the song says, but... It was not because of a love, but because of a stone that broke my head at five o'clock in the morning. I fell to the pavement and a car braked very close, I'm telling it like it is.

We were thinking of crazy things or teenagers' crazy things. However, the Colonels and my Mami's right hand, imposed severe punishments, it seemed that they belonged to the National Security. OMG, thanks to my Superhero, guardian angel and protector, my Papi. He always interceded for me and at every inconvenience, he would say:

• Leave the little girl alone, she is very nervous because of the scare she got- ha, ha, ha, ha. Nervous I, poor Papi, knew she was tremendous and I played the pendejita with those big eyes.

He himself taught me since I was a child to put on the "I didn't do it" face. So he couldn't complain that with my smile and tears I convinced them that I wasn't the inventor, but.... Daddy, he knew me very well and besides, I made him an accomplice of my mischievousness, which my mommy split from me. But that was Mommy's fault, always so strict. OMG, to get a permit was a whole protocol with the signature of the Holy Inquisition and when it was time to get to the party. The time and the excitement was over because they were going to look for me.

I would hide, but they would not move until I came out. Just imagine, three men and an older female. OMG, I was wondering if the sperm, they were in the air, since I didn't even have a crush. They were living in panic mode.

At this stage of my life, besides studying, we went to the movies, to the beach and bonches as we Venezuelans call parties or pachangones. Papi was going to take us and pick us up, since there was a consensus. And he said:

The repression was softened, in reality it was something that made no sense because we were all going out together and we were going to start college. No boy dared to go near us. Daddy used to say that we were like his aunt Clemencia, who was sent on an errand, and she would show up three hours later or she would send the parcel and stay there dancing the burriquita, a folk dance from the east of my country.

When we traveled to Margarita to the festivities of San Rafael in Boca de Pozo, in Margarita. We would dance and spend the day on the beach and my eldest aunt would scold and punish my cousins, but, with Doryta and me, she did not interfere because grandma Chepita did not allow them to scold the daughters of chachaito. We would hear some music and all the cousins would go there, and we would go in without an invitation. OMG, as we Venezuelans say of white rice.

We danced our eyes out; Dominican merengues and the salsa brava of the Fania All Star; with its top representatives: Héctor Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Willie Colín, Ismael Rivera, Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Miranda, Rubén Blades among others. Good music to dance to such as El ratón, Mi Gente, Isla del Encanto, Quimbara, Mi Jaragual, Timbalero, among others. Also the salsa of Oscar d'León and Dimensión latina made us dance.

I like all the singers of Fania, their voices are imprinted in the history of music. Great hits that still invite us to dance our feet off. Along with these great voices, the musicians also stood out; like my great love Willie Colón, who excelled on trumpet, clarinet and trombone. 1967 he signs with the Fania All Star. In 1979 Willie Colón starts as a soloist.

His soft and sensual voice, makes you dance under the stars and on a brick. I evoke and I shudder for such a cute male specimen and I only fell in love with the ugly ones. No wonder I didn't pay attention to any of them, waiting for him, but he didn't even pay attention to me. I had to settle for my ugly one. OMG, it was worth it to me to be so unfriendly, because friends of #Hive, the world turns around and I met again with a lover from my teenage days and I've been married for 32 years and I haven't been retired yet.

Willie Colón: Music and more music

I love music and I dedicate this space of my Blog, which I decided to call; music and more music to present you the melodies, group or bands and favorite singers and also the classics that represented an era in the history of music. In this opportunity I turn on my time machine to bring to #Music friends one of the maximum representatives of music. Get ready to meet the charismatic Willie Colón. This musician and singer of the famous 70s and 80s. He is the maker of great hits.

Wuao, his songs are some of my favorites to dance on a little brick or behind the cornet, as we Venezuelans say to call a little soft dance, hugging and in the dark. OMG, the maximum expression of music, in him his songs were hummed and always looked for a pretext to listen to it with the lovers. Later, when I entered the university, I joined to study with friends carupaneros, young people with beautiful voices. We would get together to study, sing and drink cold beer.

In the university campus of Jusepin where I studied, the boys would take serenades to the women's dorms to delight their friends and lovers. Among the favorite singers of the boys of the salsa genre was Willie Colón, I bring you my Top Three and favorite melodies of this singer.

Sin Poderte hablar

This melody was released in 1979, under the Fania Records label. In the album "Solo". This album was criticized; however, it was a success and gave a turn to salsa. It gave birth to a more romantic salsa, which made the soul of those who listened to it vibrate and above all of those in love. Love in its maximum expression.

This melody takes me back to when I started at the university, in basic courses. My group of friends used to rest after lunch in the dining room, in a place behind the science building, and from there there is a beautiful view of the sea. We would also meet there to study. The young singers would play beautiful melodies and this Gitana was one of the favorites of the whole group.

There will always be reasons to smile and share with friends. Any pretext is good to turn on the time machine and enjoy while we evoke beautiful moments. They say that to remember is to live, especially when the soul falls in love. A melody is able to bring me back to the past, to relive and make me feel that magical moment. It is an indescribable and sublime sensation.

Willie Colón is salsa, poetry and love. I consider him to be one of the most romantic voices in salsa and his songs are classics of music. Friends of the #Music Community, I hope you like my Top Three favorite Willie Colón tunes.

Una de las cosas que agradezco al universo es haber disfrutado de mi adolescencia en una época bonita, donde no había malicia, se podía ir a cualquier lado hora. Evoco las misas de aguinaldos, en la madrugada y los patines por los cuales casi pierdo la vida, como dice la canción, pero… No fue por un amor, sino por una piedra que me rompió la cabeza a las cinco de la mañana. Caí al pavimento y un carro freno cerquita, de vainita la estoy contando.

Se nos ocurrían unas cosas de locos o tremenduras de adolescentes. Sin embargo, los Coroneles y mano derecha de mi Mami, imponían los castigos severos, parecían que pertenecían a la Seguridad Nacional. OMG, gracias a mi Superhéroe, ángel de la guarda y mi protector, mi Papi. Siempre intercedía por mí y a cada inconveniente, decía:

— Dejen tranquila a la niña, está muy nerviosa por el susto que se llevó— ja, ja, ja. Nerviosita Yo, pobre Papi, sabía que era tremenda y me hacía la pendejita con esos grandes ojitos.

Aja el mismo me lo enseño desde niña a poner la carita de yo no fui. Entonces no se podía quejar de que con mi sonrisa y lágrimas los convenciera de que no había sido yo la inventadora, pero... Papi, me conocía muy bien y además yo lo hacía cómplice de mis travesuras a escindidas de mi mami. Pero eso era culpa de mami, siempre tan estricta. OMG, sacar un permiso era todo un protocolo con firma de la Santa Inquisición y a la hora de llegar a la fiesta. Enseguida se terminaba el tiempo y la emoción porque me iban a buscar.

Me escondía, pero ellos hasta que yo no saliera no se movían. Imagínense ustedes, tres hombres y una hembra mayor. OMG, yo me preguntaba si los espermatozoides, estaban en el aire, ya que ni siquiera tenía un enamorado. Vivían en modo pánico.

En esta etapa de mi vida, además de estudiar, íbamos al cine, a la playa y bonches como le decimos los venezolanos a las fiestas o pachangones. Papi nos iba a llevar y a buscar, ya que hubo un consenso. Y él dijo:

— Basta —

Se suavizó la represión, en realidad era algo que no tenía sentido porque salíamos todos juntos e íbamos a iniciar en la universidad. Ningún chico se atrevía a acercarse. Papi decía que éramos cono su tía Clemencia, que la mandaban a hacer un mandado, y aparecía tres horas después o enviaba la encomienda y se quedaba bailando la burriquita, baile folclórico del oriente de mi país.

Cuando viajábamos a Margarita a las fiestas de San Rafael en Boca de Pozo, en Margarita. Bailábamos y pasábamos el día en la playa y mi tía mayor regañaba y castigaba a mis primas, pero, con Doryta y conmigo, no se metía porque abuelita Chepita no permitía que regañaban a las hijas de chachaito. Oíamos una música y todos los primos nos dirigíamos hacia allá, y nos metíamos sin invitación. OMG, como decimos los venezolanos de arroz blanco.

Bailábamos hasta los ojos; merengues dominicanos y la salsa brava de la Fania All Star; con sus máximos representantes: Héctor Lavoe, Celia cruz, Willie Colín, Ismael Rivera, Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Miranda, Rubén Blades entre otros. Música buena para bailar como El ratón, Mi Gente, Isla del Encanto, Quimbara, Mi Jaragual, Timbalero, entre otros. También la salsa de Óscar d'León y la Dimensión latina nos ponían a bailar.

A mí todos los cantantes de Fania me gustan, sus voces quedaron plasmados en la historia de la música. Grandes éxitos que todavía nos invitan a echar unos pies. Junto a estas grandes voces se destacaron también los músicos; como mi gran amor Willie Colón, este se destacó con la trompeta, clarinete y el trombón. 1967 firmas con la Fania All Star. En el año 1979 se inicia como solista Willie Colón.

Su voz suave y sensual, provoca bailar bajo las estrellas y en un ladrillito. Evoco y me da un escalofrío por tan lindo espécimen masculino y a mí solo me enamoraban los feos. Con razón no les hice caso a ninguno, esperando por él, pero ni me hizo caso. Tuve que conformarme de mi feito. OMG, de nada, me valió ser tan antipática, porque amigos de #Hive, el mundo da vueltas y me reencontré con un enamorado de mi época de adolescente y llevo 32 años de matrimonio y no me han jubilado.

Willie Colón: Música y más música

Amo la música y dedico este espacio de mi Blog, al cual decidí llamar; música y más música para presentarles las melodías, grupo o bandas y cantantes favoritos y también los clásicos que representaron una época en la historia de la música. En esta oportunidad prendo mi máquina del tiempo para traer a los amigos de #Music a uno de los máximos representantes de la música. Prepárense a conocer al carismático Willie Colón. Este músico y cantante de los famosos años 70 y 80. Es hacedor de grandes éxitos.

Wuao, sus canciones son unas de mis preferidas para bailar en un ladrillito o detrás de la corneta, como decimos los venezolanos para denominar un baile suavecito, abrazaditos y en la oscuridad. OMG, la máxima expresión de la música, en él sus canciones eran tarareadas y siempre se buscaba un pretexto para escucharla con los enamorados. Después, cuando ingrese en la universidad, me incorpore a estudiar con los amigos carupaneros, jóvenes con lindas voces. Nos reuníamos a estudiar, cantaban y se tomaba cerveza bien fría.

En el campo universitario de Jusepin donde estudie la carrera, los chicos llevaban serenatas a las residencias femeninas para deleitar a las amigas y enamoradas. Entre los cantantes preferidos de los chicos del género de la salsa estaba Willie Colón, Les traigo mi Top Tres y melodías preferidas de este cantante.

Sin Poderte hablar

Esta melodía fue lanzada en el año 1979, bajo el sello disquero de Fania Records. En el álbum “Solo”. Este álbum fue criticado; sin embargo, fue todo un éxito y dio un vuelco a la salsa. Dando inicio a una salsa más romántico, y que hacía vibrar el alma de quien la escucha y sobre todos de los enamorados. El amor en su máxima expresión.

Amor verdadero

Canción lanzada en el álbum “Fantasmas” en el año 1981.. En esta melodía el ritmo es totalmente diferente y las voces femeninas, que hacen un contrasye on su voz. OMG, es una canción atrevida, donde Willie exige mucho amor, algo mas que besitos.

Esta melodía me lleva cuando inicie en la universidad, en cursos básicos. Mi grupo de amigos descansábamos después del almuerzo en el comedor, en un lugar detrás del edificio de ciencias, y de allí hay una vista hermosa del mar. Allí también nos reuníamos a estudiar. Los pichones de cantantes se ponían a interpretar lindas melodías y esta Gitana era una de las preferidas de todo el grupo.

Siempre habrá motivos para sonreír y compartir con amigos. Cualquier pretexto es bueno para encender la máquina del tiempo y disfrutar mientras evocamos lindos momentos. Dicen que recordar es vivir, sobre todo cuando el alma se enamora. Una melodía es capaz de devolverme al pasado, para volver a revivir y hacerme sentir ese momento mágico, Es una sensación indescriptible y sublime.

Willie Colón es salsa, poesía y amor. Considero que es una de las voces más románticas de la salsa y sus canciones son clásicos de la música. Amigos de la Comunidad #Music, espero les guste mi Top Tres de melodías preferidas de Willie Colón.
