However, there are those who manage to reach a much broader audience, breaking through regular segmentations.\n\nOne of those who achieved the greatest reach is **Rub\u00e9n Blades**, a Panamanian singer-songwriter who has become a true milestone within Caribbean music.\n\nWhile his primary achievement is having created a type of \"social salsa,\" where he touches on the most common themes and problems of Latin American neighborhoods, he doesn't always limit himself to that kind of content; he has also written many songs that are closer to the \"flaws\" of the Latino man.\n\n*Buscando Guayaba* is one of them, and it refers to the search for \"that certain something\" that only a woman can offer. This song was an absolute boom and one of the great mega-hits from the **Rub\u00e9n Blades - Willie Col\u00f3n** duo.\n\nIt is a song that, even after almost 50 years, remains a mandatory track in the salsa repertoire of any DJ or dance orchestra.\n\nToday, for a change, I am reviving this song once again, but this time accompanied only by the *cuatro*. I've included the \"mouth solo\"\u2014though not the original one, as I don't know it by heart\u2014but I didn't want to leave it out. Sin embargo, hay quienes logran llegar a un p\u00fablico m\u00e1s extenso, rompiendo con algunos de las segmentaciones regulares.\n\nUno de esos que logr\u00f3 unos de los mayores alcances es **Rub\u00e9n Blades**, cantautor paname\u00f1o que se ha convertido en todo un hito dentro de la m\u00fasica caribe\u00f1a.\n\nAunque su principal logro es haber creado un tipo de \"salsa social\", en la que toca los temas y problemas m\u00e1s comunes de las barriadas latinoamericanas, no siempre se limita a contenido de esa \u00edndole y ha tenido muchos temas que est\u00e1n m\u00e1s cerca de los \"defectos\" del hombre latino. \n\n*Buscando Guayaba* es uno de ellos y a lo que se refiere es a la b\u00fasqueda de \"aquello\" que solo una mujer puede ofrecer. Esta canci\u00f3n fue un boom total y uno de los grandes mega\u00e9xitos de la dupla **Rub\u00e9n Blades - Willie Col\u00f3n**.\n\nEs una canci\u00f3n que, aun despu\u00e9s de casi 50 a\u00f1os, sigue siendo tema obligatorio en el repertorio salsero de cualquier DJ u orquesta bailable.\n\nHoy, para variar, vuelvo a revivir esta canci\u00f3n, pero ahora solo con el acompa\u00f1amiento del cuatro. Est\u00e1 incluido el \"solo de boca\", aunque no el original, pues no me lo s\u00e9 de memoria, pero no quise dejarlo por fuera.
