ITS A LOVE STORY...
I came across @mipiano post yesterday and i really loved it and it sounds like an exciting challenge i couldn't wait to join. So after reading her post i went to where we usually keep the family photo albums and went through all the picture, i really had a good laugh and a lot of nostalgia feelings. Some moments i wish could stay forever and also a gratitude feeling to God for how far He has bought me. I was tempted to share a lot of stories but i finally decided to share my love story with my husband.
This is a picture of our introduction ceremony with friends about five years ago. In my culture before any wedding ceremony there must be an introduction ceremony so that the families of the couple will get to meet each other and also interact with each other. It wasn't an easy ride getting to this introduction point in our relationship as my husband and i are from different tribe. In my country there are a lot of people that are still tribalistic. So because of our different tribe my mum object the marriage as she wants me to marry from my tribe but love is not a tribal thing, love is a universal language we all communicate and love cannot be restricted by tribal sentiments.
That's a picture of my husband up there and when i saw that picture all i could say is i want to go back to that size... hahaha, after the birth of my kids i have move from size 8 to size 10 and i miss my size 8 so bad.lol that make me remember Beyoncé's song pretty hurts.
The society will body shame you and make you lose your sanity if you are not careful. I have come to the point in my life where all that matters is my health and how i feel inside. Its okay if i want to be size 8 again but i am doing it for me and not because of society influence but for me and that's the real thing.
One thing again the picture reminded me is how love always wins in every situation. How we were able to find ourselves in each others arms despite all odds which makes we remember the music we danced to in our first dance in our wedding. Ed sheeran perfect.
The lyrics of the music just fits our story and i love the song so much. The song talks about fighting for love and that was exactly what my husband and i did.
I must say it was worth fighting for, its been an amazing ride. Its wasnt easy to convince my mum but she choose my happiness over her reservations and she is also happy because she sees the way we are happy and she never regret giving us her blessings.
The picture above shows when my parents were praying for us. Parental blessings is one thing we don't joke with. I believe so much in the power of prayers also the power of parents prayers. So i am really excited it didn't get to the point where we have to elope but was able to get everyone approval and we having the best of time and the music that best describe prayers for me have to be pray for me by Darey
The first picture i used in this post is a picture with my three friends and my husband's best friends and it just remind me of how i miss my friends so much. We met in college and we have been best of friends since then. I have not seen them for almost five years now but we communicate often and i can wait to see them again. We all live in different cities and country right now and i await a day we will all meet again and that brings me to this amazing music about friendship by Johnny Drille, How are you my friend
You think this is an amazing challenge like i did? know more about the challenge here
Hi there,
it's been a while :))
If I am not mistaken I see you have a baby. Your second daughter! Congratulations 😊
So nice to see a contribution to this photo-story-music initiative. Thank you for searching in the photo albums and bringing your memories here 😇
I guess you had to go through a bit of effort to convince your family to marry to man you love, from another tribe. Social pressure, it's a thing, but love is of course over those restrictions, and I am glad you got the blessing from your family :)
Hello there,
I am amazed you still remember me. its been a year, having my second daughter wasn't easy on me but it feels good to be back.
Thank you for your kind words always.
Yes, your username sounded familiar so I check your latest posts and saw the baby :))
