The big question is if web 3 music has got any better? Since the NFT days the conversation of better returns vs streams and platforms trying to be the one has been diluted. I'm actually a regular on Web3 music show on X space.
Some people have found successful cases, some hasn't. Some did a great job pushing their content while the majority didn't get any wild numbers.
Same thing with metaverse, it was fun and a few did it really good, but most people didn't get it and went away. Just wonder how did AI impact that environment 3 - 6 years later.

Well, we are giving it one more go. The NFT craze was not the right way to do it. Everyone was just trying to capitalize and flip some big money for basically nothing. I am not sure if the web3 space is going anywhere really outside of DEFI, so who knows. We'll see and if it doesn't work, well, back to the drawing board.

I guess, but what's the new business model?
Previously it was, you don't need a label, just stream and earn 24/7.
Then it was, you own your own music and name your own price.
Now with AI is 'make the music you always wanted'.
But they don't mention if its in any way 'profitable'; I keep being bombarded by SUNO announcements about how to compose your own song, which is great. But, what's the new business model now. Are we still on streaming train or are we selling NFTs?
As a consumer, I have taken the time to buy whole MP3 albums from places like Bandcamp. Not sure if their numbers are going up, or down, but hopefully someone is paying attention. Same with other popular platforms like Soundcloud or Youtube music, or Patreon. All these are Web2 alternatives. But are there any new ones taking over in 2026? Do you know? Does anyone know? Is ITunes still relevant?
iTunes is built into Apple Music. It's the purchase option. I know I still purchase music if I need it for anything other than listening and use it. The industry is in a weird place.
The way I see it, I can only build what I would want to see, the only way I know how. Is it the solution, probably not, but at least I am trying something.
The problem is, I only hear complaints about things from people instead of what could be solutions. So how am I to know what is best. I can only report things as I see them and let people know what we are trying to do over here.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
