RE: Why BlockTunes NFTs Are Better Than Soundcloud

Yesterday I was in a web3 space about the difference for musicians on web 1 vs 2 vs 3 and how things are way more disruptive but also confusing for many artists.

If web 2 was confusing, web 3 is even more. Thanks for writing articles like this to debate the definitive roadmap for an artist.

Yes, it is confusing and that is a big problem with onboarding new people. I have at least gotten the BlockTunes project down to one blockchain, lol. When we started out, we has stuff built on BSC and Polygon too, lol. The EVM stuff was a big turn off to the original users so I had to simplify things a bit.

Yes multi-chain is a roadblock. However the issue is the huge amounts of alternatives and lack of success stories. As opposed to mainstream artists that were discovered on different platforms, instead we sort of need a self-made artists thanks to his crypto backup. This look more like content creation success than actual performance success.

I've seen too many blockchains solutions for music, but still no strong one. Even mainstream artists have jumped into creating NFT albums like Kool Keith on wax, or Snoop and Method Man on Crypto.com, or NAS on Royal. There isn't a consolidated ecosystem that brings music listeners to the platform where the artist reside. Both music and music business are all over the place on Web3.

That’s just the nature of it right now. It’s all new. The problem is that the bear market really killed allot of NFT momentum because they were used wrong the whole time. We are all just trying to build something new. Most of us don’t have the reach as people like Snoop, so people also need to be patient.
