What if I told you that the same physical place; literally a themed bar, ‘coexists’ in harmony, which on the surface does not appear to be so. The surrealism of its artwork, the classic American lighting of a typical bar, and on the other hand, the uncomfortable but not annoying feeling of an era that seems distant but somehow always comes back to us denounce or another form... Sorry if this intro is confusing but I designed it this way in order to give the context of the place that you can see in the pictures...
On the advice of a friend, I went to a town near mine and I went to a bar, hidden, with plenty of jazz from the 30's, with obvious touches of swing and with that aura of lust/seduction typical of a time when these things were not well seen and even less “normalized”. This is how a curious visit recommended by friends, who haven't even lived in the country for years, left a certain mark on me. I'll tell you something, the beer in this place was so delicious that I didn't even have time to take a picture of it.

Every step I took, I came across a different creation by a different artist. All the works you see, neither have a name nor did the artist who made them publicly provide any information. Some, at most, just had a different ‘work 1’, ‘canvas 47’, and that's it. I tell you how difficult it is to convey all the sensations of such an abstract and meaningful world with something as rudimentary and human as a place to drink alcohol and chat. Concepts that are, historically and chronologically opposed, coexisting together and the result is a simply bewitching place.
Not to mention the music. I must praise the sound system in the bar. The quality is elite. Only the best frequencies that vinyl can provide. Sadly, the owner of the place was away and so I had the opportunity to chat with him and have him explain to me how he came up with the idea of fusing post-Great Depression music, the surrealist movement, American modernism and the human baseness that makes us all so beautifully predictable and naughty.

Awkward, odd, bizarre but seductive and certainly aesthetically pleasing. A place designed so that in addition to just enjoying alcohol, you can involve all your senses. The toilets, which I was able to photograph but which is adult content with explicit and suggestive images, are as transgressive as they are original. Men in the women's toilets on the walls and floors (insert wild imagination as to which poses and which details), and the same but reversed in the men's toilet.... It was definitely a fantastic experience. I'm planning to go back, hopefully this time I'll find the desire for that bar, I need to know how and why this place exists. In the meantime, I share my inspiration with you, precious ones.
