Que tal, Music Zone. Una de las mayores joyas de la música y espero que no sea olvidado en el corto plazo es la legendaria canción de “Diana Ross”, "I'm Coming Out" una canción poderosa, exuberante y liberadora lanzada en los 80´s como el segundo sencillo del álbum Diana. Producida por el legendario dúo de Chic, Nile Rodgers y Bernard Edwards, la canción es un magistral ejemplo de la transición del disco al pop/R&B de principios de los 80. La canción lleva el inconfundible sello de Chic: una línea de bajo pulsante y contagiosa (cortesía de Bernard Edwards, uno de mis bajistas favoritos por su increíble técnica), una guitarra rítmica minimalista y precisa (Nile Rodgers) y una instrumentación de metales y cuerdas que construye un sonido opulento, pero con clase. Realmente una maravilla musical y este será ma con que me presente esta semana en este Hive Music Festival.
Hey there, Music Zone. One of the greatest gems of music, and one that I hope won't be forgotten anytime soon, is Diana Ross' legendary song “I'm Coming Out,” a powerful, exuberant, and liberating song released in the 80s as the second single from the album Diana. Produced by the legendary duo Chic, Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, the song is a masterful example of the transition from disco to pop/R&B in the early 80s. The song bears the unmistakable stamp of Chic: a pulsating and infectious bass line (courtesy of Bernard Edwards, one of my favorite bassists for his incredible technique), minimalist and precise rhythm guitar (Nile Rodgers), and brass and string instrumentation that builds an opulent but classy sound. Truly a musical marvel, and this will be my entry for this week's Hive Music Festival.
