It's been an exciting journey so far, hasn't it? We've witnessed the birth of the Web 3 music scene, with its promises of decentralization, transparency, and empowerment for artists. However, it's no secret that we're facing some challenges. Our friends over at Emanate.live are closing up shop, and it's disheartening to see any player in the space struggle. We have worked in tandom with the Emanate crew over time, mainly in the beginning stages of our project, but have always had a mutual respect. So it really sucks to see them go.
It doesn't help to see that the Hive community hasn't seen value in the $MUSIC token and our NFT platform as the price of the token has really struggled lately. It really shows the struggle that not only us, but other communites and projects in the space are seeing. Many people say that music is a great industry to disrupt with blockchain and crypto, but we haven't seen it come to pass, yet...

My question would have to be what is your plan to bring value to the token and therefore the artists.
I haven't seen much about blocktunes other than on twitter so don't know how you operate.
If it's music, then is a blogging platform the best way to go?
Would an app be better with playlist of featured artists from the blog.
What are your revenue streams?
Where does the revenue go?
How do the artists benifit?
Have you done any marketing?
What is the business model for your site to make money and to grow?
Lots of sites launch projects on hive and expect the community or the reward pool to provide enough for it to run but any successful business generates a lot of revenue which brings more users and profits.
Hive is a great chain to build on with its features and it's community but a business still needs to be ran properly to succeed.
For me the ideal scenario would be a spotify like app for artists to create their music. Palylists of different indie artists and genres for the users. This would link back to their blog where you could find out more about the artists, their tracks and how it all comes together.
Revenue is funded by ads and in time a small subscription which is shared between the devs to run the system and the artists for their plays.
If it was built well it could attract a lot of the smaller artists who get peanuts form larger sites.
Ignore the blockchain part where the artists are concerned and focus on the users experiance and generating revenue.
Sounds good in theory anyway.

Doing just a bit of research and looking at our home page would answer a lot of your questions. We lay out everything there. We are here to help artists by offering an array of services. Any of these services and be purchased using the MUSIC token as well as the NFT marketplace. More use case than most Hive tokens. As revenue isn't always the answer either, bringing google ads into a web 3 platform just seems counter productive to what we are trying to accomplish.
It seems that many artists are too busy on web2 to look into web3 where the audiences are pretty small even if there may be benefits. Time is precious and they may not want to spend much of such things. We have got a fair few musicians on Hive though. I think it's important to get the fans on here too. I just dabble in music, so it's hard to know what I can get from your services.

Unfortunately the Hive-Engine devs are few and far between and are more concerned with Splinterlands vs doing any new updates to the outpost front ends. I have been asking for unlockable text in the NFTs for about 2 years at this point. It would be nice to have a share function though, I completely agree with you on that.
I have been looking and learning trying out the tutorials to uderstand the coding behind Hive stuff but I am making slow progress due to demands in my day to day. but I have worked in web development and coded a few apps so may be of some help when I am up to speed.

It is an uphill battle. There are so many coins, projects, and NFT options—plus the average person doesn't know how NFTs work.
Music NFTs are a very niche product. Of course, niche product sales are how companies tap a market, but the market is tiny right now.
NFTs arent our only offering. The problem is that people don’t want to even try to look outside the traditional system. That’s apparent with the number of users on Hive.
Owww that is an really easy one.
In all the Web3 music platforms, one crucial stakeholder isn't addressed. The listener. The consumer.
Digital music didn't really took off until services such as Spotify and TIDAL established itself. Plenty more such services emerged since then. Those platforms that embrace the Amazon model, all music, short and long tail, will become and stay the dominant service used, by far the dominant platforms. For a very simple reason. That is what the listener wants.
What I'll write next is perhaps a little black/white statement - but need to put it like that to maximise the chance peeps really start to think about this.
When web3 only offer web3 music on their platform- even when they have a great player in at least a mobile and laptop app - they will not gonna make it. Unless they have deep pockets and can wait until most music is in web3 - I mean most to all mainstream music, from the big boys and girls. But this is gonna take tons of time.
Also, those who create music and like to use web3, be ready to not really sell the music, not getting known in any way, unless they can themselves or through partners, get themself marketed. Again, this is something that needs to be done web2 style, perhaps even using the network that exists.
but but but - first the listener/consumers problem needs to be solved, otherwise nothing makes sense.
A possible solution could be to create the Amazon style platform, get a big ass catalogue of artists/music in simple web2 style and add web3 music to it. Get into a deal with Spotify, or TIDAL, or Apple. Use their catalogue, pay them for this, add your own frontend to it, and mix in the web3 music in it. Add a track-selling service to it as well, for those who want to buy after listening to something in streaming mode. But perhaps nobody is willing to buy. Otherwise Spotify would've had such shop as well.
In conclusion: don't forget about the consumer, the listener. That is the name of the game {WINK}
I can see your point , music can be listened to on individual players at NFT sites but a player for all NFT's and the ability to create playlists would be good, maybe even NFT incentives to those who participate, best playlist or somthing like that. as an artist selling music is not the sole purpose for making music having people listen and enjoy is just as important. or spreading the message .
Incentives are something most peeps in the crypto space talk about, but the masses won't do stuff because it earns them some pocket money. And I think you understood me not 100% correct. When all web3-based music would be in a single player, the masses wouldn't come to such a service. it needs - almost - ALL the music out there in a single player, including all the 'web2' music.
It is for a reason that Spotify is - finally - doing so well. It took them a decade or more, plus a LOT of money, to get where they are. They have all the music the masses listen to. None of the web3 platforms has that.
