Privacy is power. What people don't know they can't ruin. How much do you value your privacy?

Since we are in the digital era,it's very easy to share information at the snap of our fingers either out of excitement, or impulse. But have you ever thought about what people do with your information afterwards?

Just like words when spoken can never be taken back, so too, information when shared cannot be retrieved even after deletion .

Some people are so good with screenshots and screen recording immediately information is being shared. Even after deletion, these information seem to get out of our control, how do you retrieve it from the hands of those it has gotten to?

This is where discretion comes in, knowing what to share and what to keep. Sadly , many people have transformed their social media account to their personal diary where they share way too much and every aspect of their existence- From their lifestyle, to their whereabouts, to what their meal, to sharing who they are seeing, even the images of their kids at school and their every activities.

The ability to draw the line lies in our discretion as over sharing can jeopardize our lives and put us at risk. Before hitting the send button, pause for a moment to think about the pros and cons of sharing such information and ask if it is even necessary to do.

Many people disguise to be your friend on the media but might have bad intentions towards you. Still some might be jealous of your progress and might want your downfall, yet others look for your information to impersonate you.

I once read that some people have bad spirit and once some valuable information gets to them, everything comes crashing. Do you agree with that?

A few tips I've found helpful is setting boundaries and never compromise your online privacy just like you wouldn't want anyone to invade your offline privacy. Guard it as much as you can.

Before accepting a friend request, ensure you verify who the person is. Avoid sharing sensitive content or personal information. Protect your digital profile by removing unnecessary information like your location, date of birth, home address, telephone number, and the likes.

Never post your kids in school uniform or expose the school they attend on the media. Be at alert and remember that safety comes first and your privacy is your responsibility.

P- square- Nobody ugly

The P square song comes in handy for me. As it talks about the Digital addiction. Some people no longer have a private life as they share every moment online.

Everywhere they go they "chakam" 🀣 even in the toilet. They share every detail about themselves and to keep up with the lifestyle they add a bit of lies where they are lacking in real life.

Is it even necessary to show off? A low key lifestyle brings more peace and self-respect than we can ever imagine.

There's beauty about people not knowing what you're up to and if we must celebrate our every win on the internet we must be very cautious with whom we share these sensitive information with.

One must protect oneself online for sure, just way too many scammers out there. I don't believe in showing off, what is it going to gain? Noting except maybe jealousy. Great post!

I like this song by psquare because they went all out to speak against fake life. Most people who show off are "fakes".
Real wealthy people don't show off neither do they brag as well.

Using discretion in the way we operate our digital space will save us from future troubles

Yeah, because they need something to keep up with the over sharing, most result into fake lives. Thanks for stopping by.
