Queen was and will be one of the most emblematic rock bands in history. I often wonder how only four people managed to do something so great, but I automatically respond and say, they weren't just any four people, we are talking about exceptional musicians with qualities and unique skills in the history of music.
I have chosen this song among many because the force with which Freddie Mercury put this phrase on the world's lips forever is impressive.
The song in its lyrics gives us questions that perhaps we have all asked ourselves: what are we living for? Does anybody know what we are looking for? Does anybody want to take it anymore? It is truly no coincidence that it has been one of the greatest hits, it has the ability to reach the deepest depths of the listeners and make us analyze and feel what we live and why we are doing it.
The Show Must Go On was released by Queen in 1991, six weeks before Freddie's death, I was not yet born and there is no time I listen to it and do not feel very great sensations within me, its powerful and emotional character is indisputable . The song was undoubtedly composed by Brian May in honor of the moment the group was going through and, why not, what awaited all of us who shout into the air today "if Freddie were alive, we wouldn't know what to expect." He was a person with so many vocal, musical, intellectual and social qualities that could have undoubtedly surprised us, taking into account the immense variety of genres that we can enjoy today. At that time they were able to fuse rock, opera, pop and make their songs the most listened to of the moment.
Queen
I never forget the scene from Moulin Rouge in which they sing this song at the top of their voice, it is without a doubt my favorite part, the imminent end of Satine played by Nicole Kidman and the need for the show to continue is one of the most emotional scenes of this film and what better piece than this to describe it, I love Richard Roxburgh's performance throughout the film, his funny looks and gestures make him one of the favorite characters, but undoubtedly in this shot we can see his concern and how distressed he is. who is about Satine's upcoming death.
To music and film lovers who have not been able to enjoy this classic, I recommend it without hesitation; I dare to say that it is the best musical in the history of cinema.
Moulin Rouge
Guys, we could talk about Queen that is not already known, we all know the greatness of this group and its artists. I hope that their music lasts until eternity, because it is undoubtedly one of the best that the music industry has been able to give us.
