A short story about me and my work EN/ES
So, as promised, a little about myself.
I’m thirty-something: “Who even counts those, lol.”😆 I’ve been making music since I was about 16, more or less - though back then it was nothing but experiments, and every new piece would inevitably get deleted after a few days. Of course, some of my later works can still be found, and a bit later I’ll publish them all.✌️ I’m fascinated by sound and the effect it has on people. The first time I heard ambient music - I remember it clearly - it was a piece by Brian Williams, also known as Lustmord. I thought: “Whoa. So much happening in a single track?” And from that moment on, I focused on ambient. A lot of time has passed since then, and my ability to work with sound - as well as my vision of music - has gone through many changes. What made me choose music in the first place? Well… in my youth I was far from doing the usual things people do at that age in tiny provinces like the one where I was born. My peers considered me a “weirdo” — that’s the closest word in meaning out of all the not-so-nice nicknames they generously gave me. “If I got paid $1 for every new nickname, Elon Musk would have to move over. lol”😂 So, it turned out that music is what’s closest to my spirit. And it’s exactly what helps me put my soul into Art. In the photo above is my studio, which also doubles as my home office. My studio setup:😍😍
MIDI = Arturia KeyLab Essential 49. Cool piece of gear of course I covered it with cat stickers.
Microphone = Alctron MC001. A solid mic with good sound quality; I don’t use it very often.
Monitors = Behringer Studio 50USB. These stately black beauties do exactly what they promised that’s why I love them.
Audio interface = MOTU M4. Great interface, perfect in terms of price-to-performance.
Headphones = Behringer HPX 6000. Yeah, they’re almost falling apart, and my repair skills have so far only stretched to shiny duct tape. But they work — respect to them.
The displays are pretty cheap. But I dream of a single 49-inch monitor. For now, this is how it is. The vertically mounted one already has a dying panel, but I believe it’ll survive until I can buy a new one.
Software-wise, I use FL Studio and a vast ocean of all kinds of synthesizers, samplers, and plugin bundles for mixing.
I love giving sound unusual colors. Absolutely love it.
MIDI = Arturia KeyLab Essential 49.
P.S. Yes, I used a neural network to translate the post into Spanish. My knowledge of this beautiful language ends with the TV series "Breaking Bad." That's not quite what I need, is it? Lol😀

Will be fun to make interesting nice noises! welcome to the weirdos club :) I don't have discord installed but maybe I have to :S
Don't worry if it's cheap: I know what it means. I can't replace my violin bow right now either (it's worn out enough, but it still works). That's how it is when you need to save money...
Neat looking setup. I know nothing about it, but looks cool. Look forward to hearing the musci that comes from it.
Welcome to hive! :) ur setup looks so cool!
Your studio feels like being in a spaceship!
Ambient: a side of electronic music I really started to like as well when in my discovery tour started somewhere in my mid-teens years. After following all the top 40 songs and tracks, I guess I became bored with eh standard, back then. Needed a different input. I always stayed on the listening side of things, but went down rabbit holes of various electronic music styles, including, but not limited to, attending many (underground) events/parties/shows over the last three to four decades.
Thank you. I really like ambient music too. Where I live, we never listened to anything but hip-hop and bad boy music. I first became familiar with ambient music when I got internet access through computer science classes at school.
For me, mostly a Vinyl/CD rental shop that opened around the corner where I lived. They bought almost all albums being released of any kind and also ordered almost any that frequent customers requested.
These days with the big ass internet at our fingertips the discovery is made so easy, but still, much stays undiscovered regardless. A paradox in itself
Well, in the age of accessible information, some people become satiated with it.
