#TTT: El Caballero de la Salsa, Gilberto Santa Rosa [ENG | ESP]

Today's #TTT, I decided to make it a little more tropical and set it in Puerto Rico, where in 1962 the man who, a few decades later, in the 1980s, would be considered the Knight of Salsa, was born. In 2025, his music is still present at parties, trips, birthdays, and even on cleaning days (at least in my house).
El #TTT de hoy, decidí hacerlo un poco más tropicalito y situarme en Puerto Rico, donde en el año 1962 nace el que unas décadas después, en los años 80 va a ser considerado el Caballero de la Salsa. En pleno 2025, su música sigue estando presente en fiestas, viajes, cumpleaños, y hasta en los días que toca limpiar (al menos en mi casa).
Gilberto is undoubtedly a salsa icon. Through his music, he has taken Puerto Rico and the genre around the world. He has also been recognized with numerous awards, including a Guinness World Record for having the most (12) number one hits on Billboard's tropical album chart. Since his debut, his music has influenced many generations with its lyrics. Although it has been very difficult for me to choose, and there are many more great songs, here are three of my favorites. I particularly enjoy the extended live versions, which make me feel like I'm part of the concert, and each one has its own unique touch.

Desde sus inicios su música ha marcado muchas generaciones con sus letras. Aunque ha sido muy difícil para mí y hay más y mejores, aquí les comparto 3 canciones que me gustan mucho de él, particularmente disfruto las versiones extendidas en vivo, me hacen sentir parte del concierto y cada una tiene su toque diferente.
🎵 Vivir sin ella (1990)

We continue with the same album. Until now, I didn't know that this song is also by Punto de Vista, but they are so good. Since heartbreak is a universal theme in any genre or artist, there is Perdóname, released in 1990, a song for those who know they have failed miserably and don't know how to get forgiveness.Seguimos en el mismo álbum, hasta este momento desconocía que esta canción también es de Punto de Vista, pero es que son buenísimas, como el despecho no puede faltar en ningún género o artista, está Perdóname, lanzada en 1990 una canción es para aquellos que saben que fallaron hasta el fondo y no saben de que manera lograr que los perdonen.
🎵 Sin voluntad (1993)
And who doesn't need a song when they know they have to leave someone but can't? That's exactly what Gilberto conveys with his song Sin Voluntad, released in 1993 on the album Nace Aquí. There's no will to let go or release that person, but to make it less sad, he adds a lively tropical rhythm, as in all his songs.¿Y quién no necesita una canción cuando sabe que debe dejar a una persona pero no puede?, pues eso es exactamente lo que trasmite Gilberto con su canción Sin Voluntad, lanzada en 1993 en el álbum Nace Aquí, No hay voluntad para dejar ir o soltar a esa persona, solo que para que no sea tan triste, le pone un ritmo tropical sabrocito, como en todas sus canciones.

I couldn't finish this #threetunetuesday initiative by @ablaze without the bonus, one of the songs I feel most attached to Ella. With this song, I learned to dance Salsa Casino when I was a teenager, even though it's from 1994, from the album De Cara al Viento. my favorite version was released years later in collaboration with Guaco, a Venezuelan group, for their album Irrepetible. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and flavorful arrangements they have achieved, giving the song another spark.
No podía terminar este #threetunetuesday iniciativa de @ablaze sin el bonus, una de las canciones a las que más le tengo sentimiento Ella , con esta canción aprendí a bailar Salsa Casino cuando era adolescente, aunque es 1994, del álbum De Cara al Viento, mi versión favorita, es una lanzada años después en conjunto con Guaco, un grupo venezolano, para su disco Irrepetible, sin duda de los arreglos más bonitos y sabrosos que han logrado para darle otra chispa a la canción.
