A warm greeting to the Open Mic community. This week #249, we explore the theme: \"Travel.\" I am pleased to share my trumpet interpretation of \"Poinciana,\" composed by Nat Simon and Buddy Bernier. This piece of music is a fusion between American jazz and Brazilian bossa nova. The rhythm has a gentle swing and syncopated accents. My favorite version is Nat King Cole's. The lyrics use the flamboyant tree as a metaphor, which is lush and has the purpose of expressing love, passion, nostalgia, and melancholy. I didn't want to spend a week without participating in the community. Even though I've had a busy schedule, between work, studies, and content curations, I wanted to record this beautiful song full of feelings. Life is a journey, and we are the protagonists. We must not forget that we are not alone in this journey, and that success will depend on how we treat others.

Tengo el agrado de compartir mi interpretaci\u00f3n con la trompeta de , compuesta por Nat Simon y Buddy Bernier. Esta pieza musical es una fusi\u00f3n entre el jazz estadounidense y la bossa nova brasile\u00f1a. El ritmo tiene un suave balanceo y acentos sincopados. Mi versi\u00f3n favorita es la de Nat King Cole. La letra usa como met\u00e1fora el \u00e1rbol de flamboy\u00e1n, el cual es exuberante y tiene como prop\u00f3sito expresar, amor, pasi\u00f3n, nostalgia, y melancol\u00eda. No quer\u00eda pasar una semana sin participar en la comunidad. A pesar de que he tenido la agenda apretada, entre el trabajo, los estudios, y las curaciones de contenido, quise grabar esta hermosa canci\u00f3n llena de sentimientos. La vida es un viaje, y nosotros somos protagonistas. No hay que olvidar que no estamos solos en este viaje, y que el \u00e9xito depender\u00e1 de como tratemos a los dem\u00e1s. \r\n

A few years ago I went on a missionary trip and it was a wonderful learning experience. Traveling is not always about business, pleasure or rest. Many people have had to leave home for different reasons. Some go after their dreams, for a place of peace and well-being. I have many friends who left the country, and for different reasons: Some left because of fashion, others influenced by social media, in some cases out of a need for security, hope and a future, others because of the economic situation and the problems that affect Venezuelans on a daily basis, such as the deterioration of services. Those who stayed also undertook their own journey, enduring many things with patience and resilience. In the midst of that journey, some reinvented themselves and began to do things they would never have done under normal conditions. Some trips steal our lives, but others give us life. Whether we are at home or far away, life is a journey.

\r\n\r\nHace unos a\u00f1os me fui de viaje como misionero y fue una experiencia maravillosa de aprendizaje. Viajar no siempre se trata de negocios, placer o descanso. Muchas personas han tenido que salir de casa por diferentes motivaciones. Algunos van tras sus sue\u00f1os, por un lugar de paz y de bienestar. Tengo muchos amigos que se fueron del pa\u00eds, y por diversas razones: Algunos se fueron por moda, otros influenciados por las redes sociales, en algunos casos por necesidad de seguridad, de esperanza y futuro, otros por la situaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica y los problemas que afectan a diario al venezolano como el deterioro de los servicios. Los que se quedaron tambi\u00e9n emprendieron su propio viaje, soportando muchas cosas con paciencia y resiliencia. En medio de ese viaje algunos se reinventaron y comenzaron a hacer cosas que nunca hubieran hecho en condiciones normales. Algunos viajes nos roban la vida, pero otros nos dan vida. Ya sea que estemos en casa o lejos, la vida es un viaje. \r\n\r\n
