The past weeks have been a Massive Green Light
Dear Troublemakers,
It’s been a few weeks since our last update, and after a whirlwind summer so far, we’re finally taking a breath.
Following the final shows of our USA tour, we hit the ground running here in Europe—jumping straight into festivals in Germany, Austria, and the UK. Fueled by all the energy and inspiration we carried with us across the Atlantic, we returned with new material to test, new stories to tell, and a renewed clarity about where we’re heading next.
Many of these shows took place in cities and regions where we’ve been building steadily over the past few years. In others, like parts of Nordrhein-Westfalen, we introduced ourselves for the first time. The response? Incredible. The new songs have landed with power, and one of our favorite quotes from this run came after our UK set in Hampshire. A man in a Genesis T-Shirt said:
“A lot of people say they play ‘prog-folk’… but that actually was.”
That kind of feedback has been a massive green light for us.
A Shift in Gears: What’s Next
With several weeks of back-to-back shows behind us, we’re entering a slightly quieter period of the summer—giving us the space to shift our focus fully toward the next chapter.
As many of you know, we’ve been planning a major new project for over a year now. These past few weeks of touring have been a litmus test: experimenting with new material, refining our vision, and connecting with audiences in a way that tells us—we’re on the right track.
Now it’s time to dig in.
The first draft of the Novella (which forms the narrative spine of the new project) is nearing completion—already over 18,000 words and counting.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be bringing you into the studio as we finalize arrangements for the new tracks and begin crafting a new lighting and stage production that reflects this evolving story.
Meanwhile, we’re locking in a big autumn season with some key shows, including:
Elfia Arcen
Admiralspalast Berlin with Kiezpoeten
Czech Republic tour with Deloraine
Landesbuehne Sachsen Theater Radebeul in November – a glimpse of what the future holds in live production
These next shows will be a testing ground for even more of our new material—musically, visually, and narratively.
And we will be supporting Deloraine on their tour in the Czech Republic this October!
A Turning Point
In many ways, the past few weeks mark the close of the Liberty Awaits era—a chapter that brought us through the post-pandemic rebuild, across two continents, and deeper into the hearts of our community.
What lies ahead is something even bigger: a fully-formed story, a new sound, and a step into the next phase of The Trouble Notes. One that will expand not only our music, but the very way we present it to the world.
And you will be the first to witness it all.
Thank you for walking this road with us.
We’re just getting started.
With love and troubled melodies,
Bennet, Flo, & Steffi

You do get around. Keep melting faces out there. Genres are a strange thing, but music can be hard to categorise. All I know is if it moves me.
