Music - Stinging Sunday

avatar

So after a long brain malaise .... i finally listened to music again last night . Today I have been almost normal... listening to many of my favorite artists. Music is THE best thing that happened to homo sapiens.

A much more relaxed sound tonight so no dancing in the kitchen @joanstewart ... but rather relax back on your couch, a glass of chilled wine alongside... and contemplate a navel orange {thinks....'that sort of ages me'...}.. and enjoy some sublime music

Sting - Shape of my Heart

To my mind The Police were an incredible band at exactly the right time. I know Stuart Copeland was a driving force of the band... but no one can deny that Sting is an immense talent in the music arena... enduring through genre changes ... to my mind an indication of talent. Do I set a low bar? ###

Fragile

I love this song and the lyrics... {note to self: Share with Paul G}

Fields of Gold

Amazing memories and again, a really 'lekker' song.

I reckon that is enough for today.... thank you for stopping by... thank you for the support ...{friendly wave to @mipiano, @joanmasters @edje @ryihvnn} Stay safe, stay free and keep stacking those sats

namaste

I feel like you should listen to MOAR music when you have brain malaises. I have an entire playlist called cheer up (which is slightly random due to me adding songs that made me feel particularly cheerful multiple times whenever I listened to them).

How are you doing?

Ahhhh my friend..... I still mispelt your handle !!! I tried so hard to get it right without looking it up (as I ALWAYS have to do)

Major ducks are in a row... health, food and freedom so on that front very well thank you for asking. Very frustrated my good lady wants to return to South Africa (beautiful shit show) ... and that is what is freaking me out mentally. It is like walking in glue... cannot make decisions not knowing how soon she going to insist on returning.

We had a long parlay the other night and she reckons she will give it another year.... BUT I must find other accomodation in another part of Italy with grounds etc.... and my brain goes.. 'Big expense and effort and uncertainty while just kicking the can down the road' My logical side says... rather go back end of summer. BUT I really want to travel, I really LOVE the lifestyle here... absolutely stress free as opposed to SA.

My nym is a pain in the system to everyone but me (and possibly sibling dearest) apparently XD

also possibly children because they grew up with it

I'm assuming you already hashed out why she wants to go back and why Italian alternnatives are non-options for her?

If it's any consolation at least you made it somewhere for a bit and that she's giving it another year. She might change her mind once she's established a network and found a spot you both love. I've vetoed all of J's attempts at skipping the country because while he feels that lifestyle and friendships are easy enough to uproot and re-establish none of the rest of us feel the same way.

Korrekt, and is a difficult one to argue with.... she wants to be near her kids (26 and 31 respectively)

Yeh can't really argue with that one.

and that she's giving it another year

That did not last long !! She wants to leave Italy end of October {sigh}

If you want to stay as desperately as she wants to go then she can go at the end of October and you can stay til the end of the year though I doubt either of you will particularly enjoy that.

I have suggested that and she has said 'No, I do not want to do that' .... We are going down South to some friends we met late last year.... the wife is a South African and she has been telling my wife to seriously seriously reconsider.... it was a big move to make and we should not throw in the towel so easily. They have offered us a place to stay and storage for our stuff etc. ... We will be looking at accomodation down that side ... the cost of living is much cheaper there.... but big drawback is many hours and many euro;s to get to international airports .... we shall see

Legit a month ago, I was in the south of Portugal humming a song I never knew the name of playing in a restaurant/bar, extremely rare occasion do I hear it playing anywhere else. For years it was a song I had no idea who it was by, so I "shazammed" it, hummed into my phone and everything 😂 then, by complete chance a week later I found it on YouTube, it was - Fields of Gold by Sting!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.... Fields of Gold a go to for me when I need pleasant background listening music (like when entertaining) ... we were in Portugal just before plandemic c19 ... loved it! We avoided the tourist spots except of course for Lisbon... did Porto which we loved, Coimbra and some other small towns. Will hopefully pop over again in the near future.
