A little break from jamming
Summer is finally here. The sweat on my brow is proof.
I usually wake up late and feel a bit woozy for the first hour or two of my day and I guess it’s the same with the seasons.
I stumble into summer, not quite sure if I am ready or not, but willing to do what I can.
I’m not sure I can live up to the opportunities set out before me, but all I can do is keep walking in the direction I’ve set for myself.
At the end of August we hope to go to Nagoya, 2 hours aeay for a 3 day music festival. Whether we go just to play or to sell our yarn products, we still haven’t decided, but we are going either way.
Summer festivals will start in late July and before that I am trying to get myself ready to share more.
I spent the last 3 weeks recording and editing an audiobook version of Confessions of the Damaged 1.1. It will be available from June 18 on Spotify, Apple, Google, Audible and just about everywhere else. I’ll try to set up a private link on patreon so can buy it directly from me and on Hivelist so you can pick up a copy with HBD or BTC.
If you have Spotify premium you can listen to it for free and I still get paid! 🐣 Click here to pre-save it.
Now that the audiobook recording is out of the way, I’m back to focusing on music. I had to sift through a bunch of old demos to look for the background music for the audiobook and discovered a bunch of songs I want to complete, so that is one of my focuses right now.
Not sure if I will be playing electric or acoustic this summer, I just want to play at least three shows before the summer is over.
Yesterday I saw a few guitar pedals being sold at a flea market near the station and picked one up only to realize it was a famous punk band selling it. “Super fucking crazy distortion” the guitarist said to me, and he sold it to me for $7 instead of the $14 price tag because I was wearing a shirt from one of the the studios they practice at. $14 is already dirt cheap and it is some crazy fucking distortion. Makes me want to have a very loud show at some point.
I’ve been thinking more and more about making music with people. I always wanted to play solo because you don’t have to listen to anyone else, and compromise a lot, but there are some sounds that are just more fun to make with other people. I also think having some people hy your side allows you to do more, to say more, to put way more energy into what you are doing.
I guess idealy I will be able to shift between electric, acoustic, band and solo, maybe even some collaborations which are outside of my comfort zone, electronic, noise, traditional.
Recently listening to a lot of Oki Dub Ainu Band, another band that blends traditional with modern styles like reggae and psychedelic. If I have a band I imagine it will be this kind of psychedelic folk with maybe a drop of hardcore punk and noise and ambient and stoner metal and blues.
It’s nice to be free from genre, where labels are merely a way to describe something, not something to belong or subscribe to.
I just stopped writing for a moment to ask a friend if he wants to start a band 😆 nothing too formal, just a casual unit that can potentially play shows before long.
Let’s see where this all goes
Check out my music and fiction and other stuff!

It's probably not my type of music but I wish you as many views / hears on Spotify as possible. Good luck, buddy!

🙃 to each their own. What kind of music are you into?
I'm more into metal. Sometimes Dubstep and then occasionally I listen to classic and other stuff. For example, I have been in Iceland to see Sigur Ros live. I love them but that is not metal.
You're gradually achieving your goals, and that a great one. I'll check out the audiobook sometime later. Have a great weekend.
Damn finally someone who feels the exact same way, the woozy feeling me too man. So I usually wake up and for some 25 minutes I'm just still with my legs stretched on the couch to get the woozy off and start the day
Trying to fix some habits and posture which will make it improve I thiiiiink
Hope for the best I always say 💪💪
All we can really do is keep going, there's so much opportunities around me as well and added to that is pressure. I try what I can and the rest, I hope I'm making the right choices as I move on in life
Hehe, you should probably try it out and see how it goes. It’s always a big deal leaving our comfort zones but the moment we do, it always exposes us to something that help us learn and see things differently.
