New Cover by The Hawkbirds

I was getting ready to post via actifit like I do every day, but this time the app froze and it will take a bit to reset my phone so I'll just do a regular post in no community.

There is a YouTube channel known as The Hawkbirds and this is a family channel that posts mostly cover songs that they play and sing. They typically do fast punk songs from long ago, mainly The Ramones. I am a big Ramones fan so that caught my attention a while back, and I have featured them on this blog before.

Today The Hawkbirds posted their cover of a song I never heard before, called Hey Lover. It is a slower song but still fits their instrumentation. Dad is on Drums. Mom is on rhythm/lead guitar and backing vocals. Daughter is up front as lead singer and bass guitar player. Since it is not a punk tune, it is more medium tempo then at punk speed which is typically fast. I like the song and now I want to hear the original and also another cover another band apparently did, according to the video's description.

My Activity

today was a trip to the pool! I might as well talk about my activity in this post since that is what I do every day when actifit lets me post on it's app.

It was near 90 and mostly sunny so the obvious place to spend the late afternoon was at the pool. I got a little sun and then got in the water which was cold-ish for about 10 seconds. I did the high knees in there and some swim moves without actually swimming. I wasn't interested in getting water in my ears on this occasion.

When I got home, I lifted my heavier dumbbells, performing inclined rows.

After that it was time to walk. It was still in the upper 70s so I didn't want to stay out all that long in the heat. I think I got about 6K on actifit but it won't load so I can't say for sure.
