💿 Eighties Saturday DailyJams For May 17th! Alternative Indie Rock 1988 🎸 Soundgarden & Pixies Tunes!

Eighties Saturday is back! Every or at least some Saturdays I use the tag #EightiesSaturday and talk and share eighties times! Join the fun!

This week me & Ashlee each pick a band, an album & two songs from said band/album. We decided to limit it to “alternative”releases on independent record labels.

Gene picked Soundgarden and there first full length album “Ultramega OK“ released in 1988. Picking the song Flower for DailyJam & Beyond the Wheel for BonusJam.

Ashlee picks the Pixies first full length album “Surfer Rosa” also released in 1988. For DailyJam it’s the song Break My Body & for BonusJam it’s Where Is My Mind?.

Both are brilliant bands. I infuriated my mother years ago when we used to have answering machines. Being an Edward, I recorded the Pixies song Ed is Dead as my message. She was not amused to put it mildly!

Two hours left! I’ll be slapping ya back once we hit it 🎸. Definitely a cool time! These bands were little known at time of release but wow it would be amazing to see em back then! I got a poster with both bands sitting in my closest! We are gonna get ‘em framed soon and hang up.
