Melodic Muse: How Music Sparks My Creative Building Process

avatar

I think I can understand to a good extent how people are able to listen to loud music and study fine, it's admirable actually but I'm yet to be good at doing that. I've come to understand myself and how mine works when it's about listening to music. Why I understand those who do this is because I am able to do the opposite with music.

I do more output and not input when I listen to music - Activities are faster with music.

Listening to music while I study tends more to the distraction aspect than actually helping me assimilate what I study but when I have to pour out ideas I may have had, music helps with the whole process and makes it not only easier but even more innovative and fun for me.

With music, my creativity process goes through phases that not only result in something good, it has a whole fun in the process. Most of what I do creatively with music are writing or trying out a new recipe for food or doing some other online work that doesn't require me studying first.

Ever tried to think about something that worries you while listening to music?

While the choice of song may have a good influence in how you feel or react to your thoughts, any music would make you think in it's own direction and thought of that particular music. It works like magic how you play a sad song and you tend to go sad even if you were happy before playing it.

Music evokes my emotions: I bet anyone who is a lover of music will agree. For every action we take as humans, there are emotions that are involved to carry them out. It's the same for when I have to do some output from my brain or heart, music influences my mood and creative direction.

Music sets my tone and stimulate my imagination: Especially with my favourite songs, I feel like music gets my brain ready for what it is about to pour out and it helps me with imaginations of how well I want the ideas to turn out. You know how we help AIs give us just what we want by giving it exact descriptions, it is same with music when I write or give an output of any sort.

Listening to music also helps with better focus on what I have to do and by doing that, my creativity result comes out well enough. There's not enough words to emphasize how much work music could help me get done with less stress. Building with music in every sense is a way to go and I've experienced it firsthand.

I'm building my love for music while building my creativity skills, it's a win-win for me however I look at it. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been without music because it has taken a lot of aspects of my growing and building in life.

My entry to the Inleo November Challenge prompt with Day 9 focus on "Do you build with music, if you do, how?" and you're invited to participate.

Listening music in the time of study is indeed a distraction and I won't believe someone focusing on study and music at a same time. It's possible only if you are solving math.

Yeah, I've never tried to solve maths while listening to music before though.

Listening to music is also a distraction for me, but I work well while listening to music in other aspects.
Thanks for sharing.

Have heard people say, "Listening to music while performing a task distract them and most times, they wouldn't realise when they'll just put away what they're doing and put on their dancing shoes". LOL

In contrast, I'm just the opposite.
I tend to work at a faster pace while listening to music.
