The impact of music on my life.

Music has played a huge role in my life, and I don’t think I would be the same person without it. It’s more than just a sound—it’s something that helps me get through the ups and downs of life. Whether I’m happy, sad, stressed, or just chilling, music is always there, shaping my mood and making everything feel a little better.

One of the biggest ways music has helped me is by keeping me sane. I am currently in school and there are just those days when everything just feels overwhelming—financial struggles, academic stress, assignments piling up, and the general pressure of trying to keep up with everything. It actually gets exhausting, and sometimes, I just need to escape from it all. That’s where music comes in. The moment I put on my earphones and let the music flow, it’s like all the stress slowly melts away. It doesn’t necessarily solve my problems, but it makes them feel less heavy. Some songs just have this way of making me feel at peace, even when life is chaotic.

Music also brings me joy, especially because I love to dance. I can’t count how many times I’ve been in my room with my friends, and a good song comes on, and before I know it, I’m on my feet, moving to the beat. The best part? The way my friends hype me up like I’m the best dancer in the world. Those moments are literally pure happiness—just good vibes, laughter, and forgetting about everything else for a while.

But music isn’t always about good vibes. Sometimes, it takes me to places I don’t want to go. One thing i have realised is that, there are certain songs that, the moment I hear them, bring back painful memories—things I’ve been through, people I’ve lost, moments I wish I could erase. This month has been particularly tough for me, and I’ve found myself in situations where a song I used to love suddenly feels too heavy to listen to. It’s crazy how a song can trigger emotions you thought you had buried. I have had several moments where I’m just sitting there, listening, and before I even realize it, tears are rolling down my cheeks. Music has that power—it can heal, but it can also remind you of things you’d rather forget.

Even with that, I wouldn’t trade music for anything. It’s become such an important part of my daily life. Even when I’m studying or working on assignments, I need music playing in the background. I don’t like reading in complete silence—it makes me feel restless. But with music, especially calm instrumentals or songs I really like, I find it easier to concentrate. It helps me stay alert and makes everything feel less like a task.

At this point, music is like a best friend that’s always there. It lifts me when I’m down, makes me feel even better when I’m happy, and keeps me company when I feel alone. Life would be pretty boring without it by my side.
