Bed Of Roses
Here I am again, in front of a blank sheet of paper, and nothing comes to me, no inspiration to write anything. Of course, I could write a lot, but I think it had better be interesting for the reader. A blank paper is a metaphor; I haven't written on paper with a pen for a long time.
My habit of listening to music almost all the time, including when I write, helped me on this occasion. One of the songs that reached my ears gave me an idea.
We are already in May, which is towards the end of the month. When we think of flowers, it is the most beautiful month of the year. After a dreary fall and a frozen winter, spring is about rebirth and returning to life. All the vegetation basks in the warmth of the sun and the abundance of water and explodes in beauty.
I realized that my little backyard, which I also call my garden, could be a story to tell because it is at the peak of its beauty before the excessive summer heat dries out most of my flowers.
Roses are the most common flowers in the garden. Every new year I bring in new plants to replace the ones that didn't make it through the winter. Many times now, these roses have their first bloom, and they are always a surprise for me, because it has happened many times that the photo on the package I bought in the florist's shop does not correspond to reality. I have had pleasant surprises, like this rose that bloomed exactly like the one in the advertisement.
May is the month of roses, which I want to show now, in this garden diary.
Because I started with a slightly unusual color, I'll continue with this climbing rose, whose color I can't find in the collection of colors in my brain.
This is also one of my favorite roses because of its softness—it has no spikes!
I stick to the romantic roses, not as softness, because they have spikes, but because they resemble a bride, I think they suit weddings.
Here, I can smoothly transition to pink and English roses.
I think many of you have guessed which song inspired me today. Those who haven't will now have a chance to see... and listen.
The too-handsome John Bon Jovi thinks he's found true love, but I know he hasn't...
I did find a similarity between my lack of inspiration and his:
"Sitting here wasted and wounded at this old piano
Trying hard to capture the moment this morning, I don't know"
My inspiration came from the desire to...
"I want to lay you down in a bed of roses
For tonight, I sleep on a bed of nails
Oh, I wanna be just as close as
The Holy Ghost is
And lay you down
On a bed of roses"
I send Mr. Bon Jovi my thanks for his help and move on among my roses, of which I will certainly not make a bed at my almost 72 years of age.
I am not a fan of the color pink; my niece is. However, for some reason, my garden is full of pink!
I think these were pink but escaped to red, almost red, closer to my appreciation. I think I'm wrong if I look more closely at the photos.
A few stand out from the majority color; being unique is more interesting, right?
The rose is a type of flowering shrub. Its name comes from the Latin word Rosa.
There are over three hundred species and tens of thousands of cultivars of roses. The flowers of the rose grow in many different colors, from the well-known red or yellow rose to the white or purple rose. Source
So, it only remains to thank our wonderful nature, spring, sunshine, rain, music, John Bon Jovi, my little garden, our care to keep it in this good condition, for the idea and inspiration for this blog. Thank you!
I always start with photos when I want to write a blog. Photos remind me of places, events, and feelings that turn into words. When I post on Photography Lovers, the words have even less importance; they are a companion to the photos I want to show. This often makes the story uninteresting, yet it is necessary; otherwise, the photos would merely be a series of ordinary images.
I make this statement as a plea to those reading not to overjudge the text and to focus on the photos.
A wise saying goes that a photograph is worth a thousand words, but I'm not so sure.
Everything depends on the beholder.
A blank sheet of paper is like a blank canvas.... gives freedom to express and imagine and those roses plus the music have done that well. My favourites are pink roses, pink is love and I love them, whether they are pale or stronger. Beautiful pictures!
Thank you!

Roses are beautiful, whether they are red or pink or white or yellow.... A rose is always a rose.... However, home-grown roses smell wonderful, although they are not as elegant as those bought from flower shops. But these roses have absolutely no scent, unfortunately. Your photos are beautiful, I can almost smell them

Thank you! The roses from the florist are perfect. The lack of flaws doesn't help, just like the ones with cosmetic surgery.
To !!! Great and full of good feeling
Thank you!
If one day God allows me to have my own garden I am sure I will see to it that flowers abound, as they are my favorite, and I hope they are as colorful as the ones you have shared here, this is a blessing! ❤️
I hope that day will come soon!
