Making music for a podcast!

As I announced in my previous post Two Hive Projects, I continue to work on my project La Colmena Sonora (The Sonorous Hive), a podcast where I interview the most important Venezuelan singers, bands and orchestras.

My son made me realize how important it is to take advantage of this opportunity to show the music I make. Although the podcast is not about my music or my career as a singer and musician, it's a good opportunity to show my work. So I decided that I would do the intro music for the podcast myself.

In this video, I show the whole process of creating the music for it.

As you know, my English isn't very fluent, and trying to compose and speak English at the same time was not an easy task, so in this video I speak a little worse than usual. I hope you can understand everything.

The way I made the music is not the one I use regularly. However, I've done it on many occasions when I was looking for something very specific, especially when making music for commercials and some clips.

In this production almost everything is homemade and the music couldn't be an exception.

There were some recordings that I would have liked to include, but sometimes I had to give priority to the production and let by side this post, so I focused on working on the song and avoided stopping to record it in video (sorry for that!).

For recording I used Ardour 7, my keyboard is the i30 workstation from Korg and my rhythm composer is the R-70 from Roland.

I'm really happy with the end result. I hope you enjoy the process of creating this track. Let me know what you think!

This is actually very interesting. Your English is understandable and I liked how you also use your keyboard to speak.

You explained a lot to us and I was awed while watching. Well done amigo.
