Rock Songs for History - let us go!
As I was indicating in my post above I am happy to welcome any Rock Classic posts with a decent story in our music community. Feel free to use the tags #rockclassics and #rockbest to showcase your favourite rock songs - not limited to the 70-90ies :-). We will support good written content if you match the criteria of at least 500 characters. I really hope old guys like me will use the tag from time to time such as @steevc @detlev @alexvan @garzon @slobberchops
What is your best Rock Song Ever?
I usually would have said songs betweenn 70ies to 90ies - but that would show I am old - hence open to younger Rock songs - here I also trust my fellow older ones to contribute with songs I even know - so thanks in advance @steevc @detlev @twinner @alexvan @seckorama @ylich
Why not implementing little initiative / tag that people might wanna use - or they just comment with their choice.
Criteria and Community is here
Write a post within the community of at least 500 characters and why you love the rock song. Thanks guys and Rock On! We might consider a weekly contest including prizes soon if the topic will be accepted.
My second Favourite Rock Song
To start this - apart from the first one I have a lot of Rock songs I really love - my second (or even third) one here (no surprise probably) by the band that changed my life, still atch out for them everyday.
Foreigner
Given my all-time band is Foreigner - Lou Gramm best vocalist, Mick Jones best manager and composer - in total the best combination of all time I will show you a (no two) rock song(s) that belong to my favourites.
I am proud a bit I am still in touch with most band members on Facebook, especially the original drummer Dennis Elliot!
Foreigner a band mainly famous as of ballads - as many rock bands - they are still hard rock for me. Glad they finally got inducted (too late) to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. They are known for songs such as:
- Juke Box Hero
- Cold as Ice
- Hot Blodded
- I want to know what Love is
But I focus on my favourite ones outside the commercial area- so what you think about the two following songs?
Stranger in my own House - from the Album Agent Provocateur"
Girl on the Moon" - from the album "4" - simply love that slide guitar
Woman in Black" - also from "4" - also not a single but in my view one of the best ones
Even a single and head song from their album in 1979 this album was the first public audience did critizise - I like the album a lot:
Head Games
A song from 1978 from "Double Vision" - one of few songs where Mick Jones was lead vocalist:
Given I am in Foreigner mode I will refrain from telling you all story about this awesome band, heritage of all band members and such!
Only one song - damn, that’s not easy.
Let’s see….
You can also do one song per week, a series :-)
hmmmmm, let's see
no pressure :-) we/you are growing also this up the hard way in case
This is my new chance to talk about some simple rock tunes that I like 😉
Glad to read - it is a bit different - my past or shall I say Good Bye Yesterday :-)?
I grew up with them, still love and listen to this but mainly play Techno and stuff - but these guys shaped my love for music and I still know any life part of them lol
Don't know much about Foreigner. I've listened just to 4 a couple times, maybe one time Agent Provocateur. And I think they're underrated. It's a shame they're only known for I want to know what love is...
Exactly - many rock bands are just famous for their ballads
