Back to the Good Old Days 🎧 - but Berlin calling
Tomorrow, my former university will host a big revival event. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend because I have to travel to Berlin for work. Hey @andyjaypowell - ich war auch mal jung am DJ Set - vermisse es.
Seeing the announcements brought back a lot of memories. During my university years, I was one of the DJs at our student parties. My area was mainly Techno, while other DJs covered Hip-Hop, Reggae, Rock, or the famous German Schlager music. Somehow, we always managed to keep everyone happy and the dance floors busy.
What I remember most are not only the parties themselves, but also the hours before the events. Setting up equipment, discussing music, planning the night, having a beer together, and talking about life, studies, dreams, and everything in between. Those conversations were often just as memorable as the parties.
Back then, none of us spent our evenings staring at smartphones. We met people, discussed music, exchanged ideas, and simply enjoyed being together. Looking back, those years feel very different from today's world.
I definitely miss some aspects of those times. Not because everything was better, but because life was simpler. We had fewer responsibilities, more spontaneity, and somehow every weekend felt like an adventure.
And of course some of my favourite tracks / mixes I used to play or loved
The photos below/above show me and buddies during those years behind the turntables. A few decades younger, a lot more hair, and probably convinced that every Techno track needed to be played a little louder. 😄 I will not shw the live vides given data security.
Sometimes the best memories are the ones that remind us where our journey started.

Nostalgia hits differently and this picture captured the absolute essence of the 'Good Old Days' There's a beautiful raw energy in youth memories that stays forever even if life takes us to different places like Berlin Missing a revival party hurts but keeping these memories alive is a privilege in itself Truly a golden frame thanks for sharing this piece of your youth 🙌❤️🩹✨
