Today, I watched a movie called Oppa with my cousin. It was my first time watching through a private screening where it was invitations only. I was lucky to have this opportunity thanks to Mays, the marketing director. Oppa is a Malaysian made film that aims at spreading awareness on scammers and I will probably give a movie review in another post. I want to share three songs that were used in this movie.

Honestly, even though I have been living in Malaysia for a while now my Malay sucks. I couldn't find the lyrics so I can't even google translate to get the gist of the song. Despite this, I think the song is nice even though I have no clue what it means. The song sounds very beautiful and meaningful and I think it was suitable for the movie since it was Malaysian made and the scenes were filmed in Malaysia.

Ok hopefully I don't get in trouble for this one. I got the wav file for this song and I couldn't find the song on YouTube so I converted it to mp4 and uploaded it myself. I'm using this as fair use to share and there's no monetization for my YouTube and the video is even unlisted so people would need the link to view it. I have no idea what's the exact title or the singer of this song.

Anyways this song is completely in English. I like this song because it has straightforward lyrics with a simple steady melody. I feel it's about letting go or about someone that doesn't feel confident enough to be with the other person. They would rather be alone than to feel like they are bringing down the other person.

I saved this for last because I thought this was an interesting song since it has a mix of Malay, Chinese and English in one song. It's super Malaysian and I like how it's giving a good message for people to be careful of scams hence the "be smart, stay alert".
