It's Tuesday here and as usual I will be sharing three songs for three tune Tuesday. Last week, I shared some songs by Sam Lin. This week I want to share songs by a K-pop girl group called NMIXX. They are a six member group under JYP entertainment. They debuted in 2022 so they are kind of new. I used to be crazy about K-pop but I haven't been up to date so I actually only found this group recently from a YouTube recommendation.

#1. O.O - NMIXX

Honestly, I am someone that uses O.O a lot in texting so I just wanted to share this song first. I thought it was interesting that they came up with a song title with one of my favorite face emojis. Something interesting is that this song had some controversy when it was released. People actually didn't like the song but I don't feel like it's that bad. If not wrong this song is about warning people to watch out for their group; they plan to make people O.O.

#2. Love Me Like This - NMIXX

This song is just super catchy especially the chorus. I also like the choreography for this song. Anyways this song is about a girl giving hints to the person they love. She wants the guy to chase her and put some effort which can explain the love me like this. Action is the best way to show love and she is waiting for the guy to do it so she can reciprocate hence the "I love you right" back after the "love me like this love me like that".

#3. 蜚蜚 (FEIFEI) - NMIXX

This is the song that got recommended to me from YouTube which is how I found out about NMIXX. The thing that impresses me about this song is a K-pop group singing a Cantonese song. I've never seen a K-pop group sing a Cantonese song. Furthermore, their pronunciation is better than my Cantonese! Just a fun fact, this is a Korean song from a K-drama which got a Cantonese cover from Sita Chan who unfortunately died from a car crash. The song is about a rumor causing a relationship to fall apart.

Thank You

If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading and listening. What do you think of NMIXX?

Please don't be afraid to share your three songs every Tuesday! Share the music share the love.

Credits

I do not own any of these songs and these are not my YouTube channels; it's just for fair use and sharing new music to everybody. All credit for these songs go to their singer🙏.

  1. No thanks. Stopped at roughly 1 minute mark. Beh tahan this kinda genre anymore since black PAIN.

  2. Bideo unabailabel (rhymes with usual Korean articulation.)

  3. Farkin impressive! Pronunciation is slightly farked up Hong Kong Cantonese. If the person who taught them speak better canto, I think they will nail it perfect score. Too many "lazy" words and "slurred" word that only Hong Kee does. For example 爱, love. Lazy tongue goes with Ooi instead of Ngoi. 危,danger. Lazy tongue goes with Aei instead of Ngaei. Last but not least, the most common 我,me. Lazy tongue goes with Oh instead of Ngoh.

Almost perfect. I didn't watch the presentation, as I was making breakfast for the kids. Listening to the singing actually kinda gives me that "flat" feeling. Perhaps the performers are "thinking" of how to word it instead of the content 😅

Hey now don't hate la. They aren't that bad. Maybe the genre pop too much already for some people haha

I don't get number 2. You couldn't see the video ah

Number 3 I'm not sure leh. Maybe that's what they were taught because they aren't natural Cantonese speakers. They were also singing that song first time in Hong Kong concert too so they probably use their way of talking?

  1. Not hate. I just prefer not to listen to this type of music anymore, before it becomes hate 🤣

  2. Not sure why. Can't view the video.

  3. Once again, nothing wrong with the girls. And I super admire what they did. Some of the bad articulation is most probably due to the "input", the person who "feed" them the word also pronounced it wrongly.
