Hello music lovers! 🎡🎸πŸͺ•πŸŽΉ

It's the last Friday in August, but summer isn't over yet. We're back with #newtunes, a selection of new songs by well-known and lesser-known musicians. You'll hear for yourself whether it's suitable for the weekend and beyond. Something may be worth your attention. You never know until you listen to it :)

Eight songs of different genres. If you are interested in something fresh and have time, you can spend it listening to it. And if you like it, I will be happy to have shared it with you!

If you don't like something, skip it.

BaianaSystem - A LAJE

Since there are still a few traces of summer left and I haven't listened to Brazilian music in a while (the last one was Caxtrinho), I'm going to stick with the Brazilians for a bit. Music experts believe that BaianaSistem is currently the most sought-after band in Brazil. They come from the old colonial metropolis of Salvador De Bahia, the capital of Afro-Brazilian culture.
They recently released their fifth studio album, 'O Mundo da Voltas', which they premiered at the Bahia carnival. Critics say that when they play live at festivals and carnivals, it's hard for any other band to surpass them. I recommend the whole album.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Deftones - Locked Club

Deftones, American rockers from Sacramento, California, who have been performing since 1988, released their tenth album, Private Music, last week after a five-year hiatus. They don't like to be classified as nu or emo metal, but that's how they sound to me. I don't mean that in a bad way.

🎡 🎧 🎡

IGORRR - HEADBUTT

Igorrr is a French musician, Gautier Serre, who has been experimenting with different sounds and melodies for twenty years. I mentioned him back in April when he presented the video for the song ADHD, a very eccentric electronic sample track.
The song Headbutt is from the same fifth album, Amen, but it's something completely different. A blend of classical and death metal, this is a structured noise composition. As he himself says, it's all Heavy Mental.

🎡 🎧 🎡

YUNGBLUD - Lovesick Lullaby

Dominic Richard Harrison, better known as Yungblud, is an English singer and actor of the younger generation. Hip hop and pop are the genres he feels most at home in. He has released four albums to date, the latest being Idols, which was released in April of this year. Music critics are wondering if he is the new pop-rock idol. He is clearly heading in that direction, as his songs have been streamed millions of times, but only time will tell if he is any good. You can also watch his live cover of Ozzy Osbourne's Changes, which catapulted him to fame. It will be featured in the film "Back To The Beginning: Ozzy's Final Bow," which is scheduled for release next year.
For now, here's Lovesick Lulabay, classic Britpop.

🎡 🎧 🎡

The Black Keys - Man On A Mission

The Black Keys have come a long way since 2002, when they started playing as a duo. They may no longer be at the peak of their popularity, but they are still a global attraction for indie, blues, and garage rock fans. Their thirteenth album, No Rain, No Flowers, was released at the end of June. Critics eagerly awaited it and then tore it apart.
Whatever anyone thinks of this album, this song is still in the vein of the genuine Black Keys. The guitar riff from the 1960s still drives the story, for which the video serves as just a backdrop, while the music remains in the mind.

🎡 🎧 🎡

BIG SPECIAL - GOD SAVE THE PONY

I have already mentioned Big Special, a hip-hop punk duo from Birmingham, UK, this year. Their second album, National Average, featuring a picture of fried eggs and potatoes, was released about a month ago and received very well. Here is their third single, or rather, video: 'God Save The Pony,' an ironic and darkly humorous story about average individuals who, like Sisyphus, must constantly struggle with personal and social problems.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Florence + The Machine - Everybody Scream

Florence and the Machine, an English band from Birmingham, is back after three years with their sixth album, Everybody Scream - exceptional vocals and top-notch production as usual.
Diva Florence can't escape her own skin, still preoccupied with herself and her own problems, which are not necessarily the world's problems. But the audience gives her strength, and she shares this wild energy with them. Shares? Or takes? Who knows.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Patti Smith - Snowball

And finally, another diva, this time from the US. Patty Smith has announced the 50th anniversary of the release of her legendary album Horses, a remastered version featuring old songs, demo recordings, and four new songs, or rather, unreleased tracks that were not included on the original album. It will be released in October this year.

One of the unreleased songs was Snowball. I like it; it really sounds like it's from that period, with the same vocals, or maybe they intentionally made it that way. Who knows. I recommend it.

🎢That's all for today, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!
