The Black Keys - Where There's Smoke, There's Fire

I often mention The Black Keys in #newtunes; I’ve been following them since their beginnings in 2001. They’ve won multiple Grammys and sold millions of records — I just love that minimalist retro blend of garage rock, blues, and soul.
The song 'Where There's Smoke, There's Fire' is the new single from their upcoming album Peaches!, which is set for release in May. It’s classic Black Keys — groovy, blues-rock with a strong beat, raw guitar, and vocals.

A Place To Bury Strangers - Where Are We Now

A Place To Bury Strangers is an American band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. They are known for their loud, chaotic sound, dream-pop melodies, and shoegaze atmosphere. To date, they have released seven albums.
'Where Are We Now' is a single released a few days ago, heralding their new album, 'Rare And Deadly', a collection of demo recordings and unreleased songs. The song is melancholic yet captures the feeling of time passing, with a more emotional, introspective touch than their usual noise.

Butthole Surfers - Jet Fighter

The Butthole Surfers is a band I listened to quite a bit in my youth; by 2001, they had released eight studio albums. They’re a cult favorite in the underground scene, known for their experimental and provocative style - a mix of noise rock, psychedelia, punk, and dark humor. They’ve announced their ninth album, After The Astronaut, for June - it was recorded back in 1998 but rejected by the label.
'Jet Fighter' is a revamped version of a 2001 song with a new video, and the lead single for the new album.

Max Volante - migraine

Max Volante is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from New Jersey. He’s a new name to me; so far, he’s released a few singles and EPs. He describes himself as a “life artist,” and his music blends indie and alternative rock with a focus on guitars.
The song “migraine” is his latest single, released a week ago. It’s indie rock with an emotional edge and distinctive guitar riffs and solos. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on him.

Dogstar - All In Now

Dogstar is an American trio from Los Angeles, formed in 1991. Their music blends alternative rock and post-grunge. They broke up in 2002 and, 20 years later, reunited with the same lineup in 2023. Of course, we can’t ignore the fact that Keanu Reeves, the movie star (The Matrix, John Wick), plays bass guitar. He’s actually pretty good at it, I think.
The song “All in Now” is a preview of the album of the same name, which is set to be released in May.

Stoned Jesus - See You On The Road

Stoned Jesus is a Ukrainian band from Kyiv. They have been performing since 2009 and have released 8 albums to date, with their latest, Songs To Sun, released in September 2025. They are known for their heavy, fusion-style sound, drawing on influences from doom, sludge, and stoner rock.
The song 'See You On The Road' is from their latest album; it was released as a single a few days ago and is essentially a brief recap of their tour last year.

The Shits – Thank You For Being A Friend

The Shits are a British band from Leeds. They formed in 2018 and have released two albums to date. They are part of the British underground scene, known for their raw, uncompromising, and aggressive sound—a mix of noise rock, garage punk, and sludge—featuring heavy, repetitive riffs.
The song 'Thank You For Being A Friend' is a single from their new album Diet Of Worms, which is set for release in April. Noise rock with punk influences. I’ll be keeping an eye on them.

Florence + The Machine - Witch Dance

Florence + The Machine is an English indie rock band. It is led by the charismatic Florence Welch, the band’s lead singer and songwriter. The band is known for its dramatic, epic sound—a blend of rock, baroque pop, folk, gothic elements, and orchestral arrangements. They have released six albums, the latest being 'Everybody Scream' on Halloween last year; I already mentioned it in #newtunes.
The song 'Witch Dance'is from this album; the visualizer was released six days ago. It features an energetic bass line and a gothic vibe, while the lyrics are very personal and metaphorical, dealing with a near-death experience following an ectopic pregnancy.
