qué te pasa a ti, qué me pasa a mí

Hello, friends of the world. Hello, friends of HIVE, music lovers and followers of Three-Tune Tuesday. Today is Tuesday and therefore, a day to share three songs with you.
The singer I bring you today, in my series of posts about Venezuelan singers who rose to fame in the 80's, is perhaps a strange star who abandoned her musical career just when her light was beginning to shine. Her name was Marlene Arias, better known as Marlene.
This singer started her musical career at a very young age, participating as a backup singer for famous singers such as El Puma and Mirla Castellanos. Her vocal talent made her stand out and in 1982, Sonorodven, one of the most important record labels in Venezuela at that time, signed her and recorded her first and only album, of which, out of 10 songs, 9 became hits. Let's listen to 3 of Marlene's songs and delight ourselves with her interpretative quality.
The first song is Ámame, one of her most famous pieces that people still remember today. It must be said that Marlene recorded only one album, not because it was a failure. No, on the contrary. That first album was a success, only that she abandoned, for love, her musical career right after she recorded her first album.
The second piece is No notas que estoy temblando, a beautiful piece, written by Spanish composer Juan Carlos Calderón, who was the composer of some songs by Mocedades and Luis Miguel. When you read Marlene's story you can't help but wonder how a singer of her stature, with her talent, who had worked to be a recognized star, when she reaches fame, can abandon her dream for love.
The last song I share with you is Qué nos pasa esta mañana, one of my favorite Marlene songs, which speaks of the heartbreak and routine that can eventually arise in love relationships.
Marlene died in the year 2023, in Miami, due to kidney failure. She will always be remembered as the talented singer who left a promising career for love. Also, because her only album is considered the most successful album of the 80's in Venezuela.
Oh I like her, but the second video was unavailable it says. I do like the lyrics as I was singing along jeje!
True and there is very little material of Marlene in the networks, because she did not make presentations or concert. She was really very good. I hope the love was good. A hug made of music, Ed!
Ah that is a shame she did not give concerts. A musical hug Nancy
