Journey to Chicago and the Florida Georgia Line
I've done some travelling over the years, in my home country of Australia and abroad and it's been one of the highlights of my life; I look forward to experiencing a lot more travel-opportunities in the years to come to new places, and some more of the locations I've been to and loved in the past.
There's so many aspects about travel I enjoy and very few I do not. The check-in process and getting through security at airports isn't my favourite thing although, if I'm doing it that means I'm travelling so I tolerate those moments. I love seeing new things, learning about places, the history and what makes them tick, the food, amazing sights and to meeting new people. I've rarely had a bad experience and loads of enjoyable ones peppered with some really funny things that have occurred also; the constant is the value travel as brought me physically and emotionally. Overall I'd say travelling has been one the most enjoyable aspects of my existence.
With this in mind today, I thought I'd bring travel right to your computer or phone with a Journey to Chicago and the Florida Georgia Line. You might not like them all, but that's ok, they're my picks, not yours and I like them well enough.
I'd be hard-pressed to single out one particular place I have liked the most...Maybe Paris or Florence if it was a city and Austria or the Lago di Como (Lombardy) area if I was singling out a region, but now I say that I'm not so sure, there's just far too many places to like. Maybe you'll have better luck?
What's the best, most favoured, interesting or beautiful place you've been to in the world? Feel free to tell me about it in the comments section and feel free to drop a photo if you like too. You can always just comment about one or all of the tracks above if you like though.

Nice picture :)
Cheers, one is at Adelaide airport, the other Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown, New Zealand.
100% :-)
I have not been to other countries. But I have travelled to cities of my country. On my trips I love to meet with new people who are from different regions. Moreover, as I am a talkative person so I remain eager to ask about their culture and practices if those practices are different.
If I travel towards mountain's areas then I just feel relaxed and I just enjoy the air that lives in mountains.
Maybe one day you'll travel abroad. If you did, what are the top three destinations on your list?
Canada would be at the number one. I don't know I always thought about canada. May be this urge has increased because just recently my friend has gone there.
At number two, I want to visit Dubai because Dubai is getting so much limelight these days due to tourism.
Third one would probably be Italy or Greece.
Rome from Greece would be a lovely city to explore. So I think should exclude italy from list.
Even if I will get chance I would like to visit all the countries.
Good plan, decent places to go I guess.
Well, I enjoyed listening to that one "if you leave me now"
And one thing more that if you ever visit Pakistan, do visit Azad kashmir side. You will find heaven on the Earth.
That's a good song for sure.
Pakistan isn't on my list of places to go in the future, but that's for the tip; it I find myself in the area I'll look it up.
Yeah sure 😊
I know the first and the second song, the second one is beautiful!!!!
I don't know the third one, it's beautiful too!!! But I prefer the second one hahaha
Travel.... I've travelled almost nothing, I don't even know Argentina, only two towns, and one of them is where my best friend lives.
Here I have travelled more, mostly for work. Nerja is the most beautiful place I've ever seen but I don't think I have any pictures left to post here. I put them in a post haha
Anyway, when I arrived in Malaga I fell in love with the city, very much! I love three places in this city, the castles (I will bring them back, I have more than 1000 pictures), the botanical garden and the mediterranean sea. I leave you one that I love!
Oh wow really? I'd thought you would love that third one actually. They're all good though I guess.
I hope you get to travel someday, I really do. It's an amazing experience and one that has stuck with me my whole life...some of those moments travelling have been life-defining, like my trek on the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea where so many Australian's fought and died in World War Two. I trekked it to pay homage to those who paid the ultimate price on Australia's behalf. It was very difficult physically, and extremely emotional.
Of course, there's been so many amazing memories and I treasure them all. I hope you get to experience that in places that you travel to someday.
The second one brings back memories, that's it....
They are all beautiful, but the second one moves me.
I would love to travel, I would love to and I will! sooner or later. I have an inexplicable fascination with Egypt, I'm dying to be inside a pyramid, I've loved it since I was a child! The origin of true knowledge.
I hope you make it happen some day.
I will, and if not I'll be happy anyway, don't worry.
I have not traveled to any other country, but it must be interesting to be able to do it and see first hand the life and culture of new places, I imagine that the experience of meeting new people and their way of living day to day, must be very interesting.
Meeting new people is one of the best aspects and I have met some amazing characters over the years. I think I'm more approachable when I'm on vacation and in other countries and that helps to open relationships.
I hope you get to travel someday. If you could, what three places would you choose to go?
Definitely the three countries I would like to visit are Canada, Italy and Egypt, of all of them I would like to settle down to live in Canada, that has been a dream since my childhood, and who knows maybe someday I will achieve it.
Hopefully you achieve that travel someday and can take your family to all of those locations.
Surprise surprise, I have seen all of those bands live. Journey was with the new guy, but they were still really great. Chicago is always fun to listen to. I have seen them twice actually and they put on a really good show. Florida Georgia Line was at a festival and they have so much energy. It's sad they took a break, but Hubbard is still putting out some good music. I really hate flying in general. I hate how they heard you along like cows. There is nothing pleasant about the experience at all!
I'd love to have seen Chicago, and there's still hope of seeing FGL, maybe one day they'll come out here or I'll be over there I guess; one can't lose hope.
I don't like that aspect of flying either, but flying Business helps alleviate it a little. I've flown a lot, for work and pleasure, so tend not to mind it too much although there's some parts of it that suck. I hate coming home to Australia and having to line up to get processed...I know, first-world problem, I hate it though. Lol.
I have never flown business, so I wouldn't know that luxury. Actually, I got bumped up to first class once in my life, but it was a connecting flight so it only lasted about 20 minutes and then it was back to reality! Chicago was good, I wish I could have seen them when Peter was with them. If FGL get back together, it will be an epic tour for sure.
I love Florida Georgia Line's - H.O.L.Y.
After listening to a few more of their songs I realized that I do have a thing for country music haha. Meant to be and Cruise are also quite nice.
And most of these I found while I was watching TV, which is odd. TV shows and channels these days are useless, and it's been that way for the past decade or so.
FGL have some great tracks, I like them all, have done for a long time now. I'm a country music guy I guess, among other things of course.
Country mixed with a bit of rock is actually nice. Both genres complement each other.
And the end of the day, I found out that genres matter less, good music is what I appreciate.
I agree, genres are unimportant, it's the music itself that matters.
I have not traveled outside my country before. I am hoping to one day. But I have traveled out of my city to a different city that has different culture, tradition and way of life. Even a different mode of dressing.
Hopefully you'll get to travel overseas to other countries someday, I think you'll enjoy the experience.
Definitely ☺️☺️ Thank you so much
What a picture!! And I’m going right now to listen to this playlist!! I’ve been looking for “music for travelers”, if that exist, lol, but there are some amazing singles for a great trip!
Thanks, it was a nice spot and easy to photograph.
The most interesting place that I've been in the world is Landmark Beach in Lagos
That's because I have never traveled outside my country but I hope to do that someday
Maybe one day.
I cannot hear that Chicago song without immediately having this scene pop up into my head
Lol, yeah great scene and great movie!
Great tunes…
My favourite place to visit is Cape Cod and Nantucket. Beautiful Sandy beaches, warm water and beautiful nautical architecture. Perfect Seaside vibe.
Boston is the closest thing I could find to Cape Cod…
I've heard a lot about Cape Cod and would love to visit someday. Your pictures make it look very nice!
Cape Cod is incredible.
Another place I recommend are the Great Lakes in Canada 🇨🇦…
Lake Superior and Lake Huron
Lake Superior : (Batchewana Bay)
Lake Huron : (Tobermory, Bruce Peninsula , Georgian Bay, North Channel)
I had an uncle that lived in Canada...I don't know why I never went there. Another place that's on my list.
So many beautiful places all over the world. I would need many years to visit them all.
Indeed, that's the problem really, lack of time.
Money too I guess.
Thanks to Hive and HBD we can pretty much Travel all over the World now.
Money is not a problem.
We basically get paid to travel.
I suppose, depending on where one wants to travel, and how.
Flights are getting expensive. Might be cheaper to have your own plane.
I’d like to go kayaking in Sardinia Next …
Source: https://www.sardeo.com/home/kayak-in-sardinia/the-caves-of-santa-margherita-di-pula/
I heard Sardinia is awesome. I'd like to do some kayaking around New Zealand...and everywhere else too!
Buying a kayak was my best investment … plus the roof racks and the wheels.
We have over 250,000 lakes I need to still visit here in Ontario… probably millions between Ontario, Quebec and New York.
250,000/10 = 25,000 so only 25,000 per year and in ten years you're done. ✅ 😁
That’s only 69 lakes per day. No problem 🛶
Haha, piece of cake!
I've never go out of my continent 😔
Well, traveling is what I'm always in love with but I have little countries in my diary hehe 😅. It's a dream of mine to stay 3 nights in kangaroo Island. I'll work harder to make it happen, really australia is a beautiful place. People are very nice!
But, my dream country to settle down is canada with alot of reasons
Kangaroo Island huh? That's in my home State and I've been there a few times. It's a nice place to visit, very natural and scenic, although there's not much else there. I liked it.
Haaaa, haaa, these pictures are something else, they are so beautiful in this Seren environments, are you a photographer?,😂, These are great jobs, I love them, thank you.
Talking about traveling, yes I traveled out of my country Nigeria in the nineties.
My family and I traveled to Hong Kong, many years ago, it was there I had my second daughter that is already married now.
The pictures are no more available to show us now, it's good to travel outside one's environment, country or city. The joy and experiences are so adorable 🥰.
In those days, few Chinese individuals could communicate in English language with us, which is our own official language, so it was some how difficult to communicate freely with them,
we rather talk with them in sign languages sometimes they write prices on a paper, we will reply same way .
It was difficult but fun, we made so many friends.
Hong Kong is a beautiful and clean country and was governed by the British, they people are friendly, they admired us as blacks, in those days, there were very few black people around, I don't know about now, you can count our numbers, at Kowloon and in Tuen Moon garden, they memory is beautiful to me and ever lasting.
The people speak Mandarin and Cantonese which are their official languages, at a time, my family traveled to Mainland china Fuzo and Guanzouh. It's a fun, I like traveling but not too much. I'm an indoor person but travels whenever the need arises.
In my country too, I have traveled to so many cities from the city where I reside now.
My family had the opportunity to reside in the major cities in my country like Lagos, Abuja the capital city of the country, Newi in Anambra state, there's so much joy one derives from traveling, meeting people, eating their kind of delicacies. Getting to know the history and pleasurable places of the cities villages and countries.
Thank you everybody for reading my piece in this community, "weekend Experience"
Thank you also our leader, @galenkp for all your efforts. 😊.
Nigeria to Hong Kong. I wonder what took you all the way there? A family holiday or was one of your family members working there?
We were looking for a greener pasture, but we came back year 2003, thanks
Ah ok, yeah sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side of the hill, sometimes not.
Yes, we loved it and the idea worked, we were in that country during that British had over of Hong Kong territory to Mainland china.
It was a good sight to behold, it's a beautiful and clean country indeed.
Thank you my leader @galenkp for your time on my blog.
Good night, it's already night over here 💤💤.
After traveling mainly through south east asia and australia between 2013 and 2021 the most refreshing and one of the most beautiful journeys we did was our spontaneous trip to south africa last year. In relation to landscapes and nature I think our Azores holidays were at least in the top 3. Anyway we´re in australia now and I still love it here.
Most annoying part about traveling for me is not the flight itself its everything around it. getting to the airport, check in, security check, waiting...will never get used to this
I've not been to the Azores however have heard so many good things about it that I'd like to.
I like airports, the diversity of them and how anonymous I feel amongst people from all over the world, but the security/bag check/check in process sucks!
Azores are amazing. Someone told as it is like if Hawaii and Ireland would have a baby together and its true. Whenever you come to europe you should visit it. We will try to settle in Portugal next year and go there regularly.
so glad I do not have to fly until mid next year :)
where is your next trip going to?
The thought of Hawaii and Ireland making love makes me laugh, but sometimes out of a one night stand comes something amazing...in this case, the Azores. 😂
@pooky-jax and I were amazed that we had not heard "Sittin Pretty" That Georgia Florida Line song. As we are pretty big fans of their music. And Chicago/Journey are all time faves of mine. That is my least fave of the Journey songs tho to be honest. We both enjoyed your post together. Thanks Bro.!!
"Wheel in the Sky" would be my Journeys all time fave. And Chicago's "Stay the Night" or "25 or 6 to 4"? Hard to choose as Chicago has so many great songs!
Chicago still plays live shows. See them here

I am going to spin off of this comment/reply into a #TTT Three Tune Tuesday music post with three songs about places I have been...
They may or may not be great destinations. You will have to check out my post to see. I will edit this comment/reply with a LINK to that post when done.
You can punch in these gps coordinates from this photo into this site...

Coordinates on the bottom right of this photo (30.73365 - 86.36882) to see the location I was at when I took this photo.
It's a great track is it not? Sort of makes me long for those moments, long, warm days...the girl in short shorts and all.
No dates in Australia for Chicago though, I'd go if they came to my area.
Being able to travel is a wonderful thing that I am very grateful for. Like you I have seen many nice places and in your words
I so love the Lago di Como! Whilst living in Germany we visited it a few times - because we loved it. One time we stayed in a hotel right on the lake in the centre and it started to downpour resulting in this rainbow - I'll never forget that moment.
It's hard to pick a favorite place. Como is definitely up there, along with some other North Italian places, Locarno, Verzasca Valley, and then, of course, there is Bonaire. Okay, I think I'm getting carried away here.
This post is about songs, right? I'll better go and check those out.
Florida Georgia Line - Sittin' pretty ✔️never heard it but nice tune
Journey - Faithfully ✔️ who hasn't heard it, yup, not bad
Chicago - If you leave me now ✔️ oh my, that brings back memories, the biggest one is that my older sis had a big crush on Peter Cetera
Nice shares!
Your images take me back there, I have virtually the same ones from my times there. It's such a beautiful (and romantic) place.
I'm glad you like the tracks, I think they're all repeat-listen-worthy. I have always like Chicago although didn't ever have a crush on Peter Cetera of course. They made some great music, as did Journey. I was going to do three older tracks this week but decided to put Sitting Pretty in there as I had only just listened to it.
Thanks for commenting, and those images too.
Yep that resonates with me. I am lucky enough to have travelled a lot in my 40 odd years and have seen amazing places, met incredibly kind and decent people wherever I have gone and am richer in spirit for it. We are quite lucky really though, as our generation may be the ones who had the golden opportunity to travel far and wide. The generation before us did not have this chance due to to cost and air travel is pretty recent in the grand scheme of things. Also as time goes by, air travel and long distance travel may well be curtailed due to high cost or change in habits for the planet's sustainibility.. who knows... What I do know though is that I am grateful for the chance I had to travel, the people I met and how it helped to round me into the person I am today.
All right up my street brother. Nice easy listening that I could easily listen to chilling in a hammock in a fave location.
Some top locations for me include Pulau Tioman island in Malaysia, Perhentian Islands in Malaysia, Dubrovnik in Croatia, Barcelona, Great Barier Reef - Fraser island and Whitsundays in Australia, Stockholm, California (two summers during Uni with best friends when aged 18 and 19 - more the experience than anything), Don Det Laos, Berlin.
You list some places I've been and some I've not been, but all good ones!
I tend to agree with the travel thing, the world isn't as safe, financial pressures and other factors may cause some not to do so and that's a big loss for them. I'm also glad I've been so many places and hope for more of the same, but I have those memories if it never happens. (Actually working on something now to be honest.) 😊
Cool that you're working on something. We're here for a good time, not a long time, so we've to remember to make memories while we can and are young enough to thoroughly enjoy them. Sky diving at 30 is far better than sky diving at 80 I suspect!
Anything at 30 is better than anything at 80...Although, I've been 30 and not 80 so I'll have to get back to you.
