Hoy me uno una vez más al reto del Three Tune Tuesday iniciado por @ablaze la que desde hace un tiempo se ha ganado el cariño de muchos dado que es una iniciativa que siempre nos da la excusa perfecta para compartir buena música y las historias que se esconden detrás de ella como ya se nos ha hecho habitual o por lo menos esta es la esencia que le hayo a esta gran iniciativa que mejor que conocer a otros a través de la música, sus ideas y anécdotas. Para mí es una idea genial por eso sigo siendo parte de estos martes de TTT.
Today I’m once again joining the Three Tune Tuesday challenge started by @ablaze, which has won the hearts of many over the past while because it’s an initiative that always gives us the perfect excuse to share great music and the stories behind it as has become our tradition, or at least that’s the essence I find in this wonderful initiative. What better way to get to know others than through music, their ideas, and their stories. I think it’s a brilliant idea, which is why I continue to be a part of these TTT Tuesdays.
Esta semana quiero ponerme un poco deportivo sobre todo porque hace unos días recordé que mi primer mundial fue el de 1994 cuando Brasil le ganó a Italia en la tanda de penales y es un recuerdo al que le tengo muchísimo cariño porque aunque no fue desde ese momento que entendí lo bello del Futbol, tengo ese recuerdo familiar que se vivía en casa debido al mundial de futbol. Desde muy chico recuerdo ver los mundiales de fútbol en casa, una fiesta mundialista que nos paralizaba a todos al frente de las pantallas, pero para ser honesto, en ese entonces lo veía más por inercia y es que es tal cual les digo, no fue sino hasta hace algunos años que realmente le tomé un cariño genuino y apasionado a este deporte entendiendo la táctica, la emoción y sobre todo la adrenalina que genera.
This week I want to get a little sports-minded, especially because a few days ago I remembered that my first World Cup was in 1994, when Brazil beat Italy in a penalty shootout and it’s a memory I cherish deeply. Even though that wasn’t the moment I first understood the beauty of soccer, I have that fond memory of the family atmosphere we had at home because of the World Cup. Ever since I was very young, I remember watching the World Cups at home a World Cup celebration that had us all glued to the screens. But to be honest, back then I watched it more out of habit. It’s exactly as I’m telling you: it wasn’t until a few years ago that I truly developed a genuine and passionate love for this sport, understanding the tactics, the excitement, and above all, the adrenaline it generates.
Pero si hay algo que sabe potenciar la identidad de cada mundial es su música y por eso que hoy les compartiré tres canciones icónicas que cada vez que las escucho me transportan directamente a la cancha. Y con la canción que vamos a empezar fue con una de las consignas que más me llamó la atención sobre todo por su nivel musical el mismo que hoy en dia está bastante escaso por parte de los artistas seleccionados para ser el representante del nuevo himno del futbol.
But if there’s one thing that really brings out the identity of each World Cup, it’s the music and that’s why today I’m going to share three iconic songs with you that, every time I hear them, transport me right back to the field. The song we’re going to start with was one of the anthems that caught my attention the most, especially because of its musical quality a quality that’s quite rare these days among the artists selected to represent soccer’s new anthem.
Para muchos y me incluyo, esta es la madre de todas las canciones mundialistas. No importa cuántos años pasen o si la escuchas en un comercial o en la radio, la introducción de guitarra y las voces rasgadas de Gianna y Edoardo te erizan la piel. Tiene una carga de nostalgia y épica que ninguna otra ha logrado replicar. Representa perfectamente esa primera etapa de mi vida donde el fútbol era magia pura y misterio.
For many people myself included this is the ultimate World Cup song. No matter how many years go by, or whether you hear it in a commercial or on the radio, the guitar intro and Gianna and Edoardo’s raspy voices give you goosebumps. It’s imbued with a sense of nostalgia and grandeur that no other song has managed to replicate. It perfectly captures that early stage of my life when soccer was pure magic and mystery.
Y creo que estoy de acuerdo con todos aquellos que dicen que si Italia 90 puso la nostalgia, Francia 98 trajo la fiesta y el ritmo latino al mundo entero. El "Ale Ale Ale" de Ricky Martin se convirtió en un himno global instantáneo o es que no se acuerdan de esa canción tan energética que al escucharla nos movía el bote sin control ja ja ja. En mi opinión esta fue la canción cambió para siempre la fórmula de cómo debían sonar los mundiales o sea, Un'estate italiana estuvo masivamente increíble pero sin duda La Copa de la vida tuve mucha más percusión, más energía y un ritmo bailable que contagiaba a cualquiera supiera o no de fútbol.
And I think I agree with everyone who says that while Italy ’90 brought nostalgia, France ’98 brought the party and Latin rhythms to the whole world. Ricky Martin’s “Ale, Ale, Ale” became an instant global anthem or don’t you remember that super-energetic song that made us move uncontrollably whenever we heard it? Hahaha. In my opinion, this was the song that forever changed the formula for how World Cup anthems should sound. I mean, “Un’estate italiana” was absolutely incredible, but “La Copa de la vida” definitely had way more percussion, more energy, and a danceable beat that got everyone moving whether they knew anything about soccer or not.
Para cerrar este TTT tenemos una de las canciones que al escuchar se me pone el pecho apretado sobre todo cuando escucharlo por medio de su video pues las imágenes en secuencia de la música nos hace emocionar hasta los huesos. La combinación de las potentes voces líricas de Il Divo con el tono de Toni Braxton creó una de las baladas más solemnes y hermosas en la historia de los mundiales. Esta canción coincide justo con esos años de transición en los que mi perspectiva sobre el fútbol empezó a cambiar, empezando a ver el deporte no solo como un juego, sino como un arte lleno de drama, gloria y esfuerzo. Sin duda que el futbol se ha vuelto en parte de mi. Espero que disfruten de cada una de estas canciones que le comparto en este nuevo martes de TTT
To wrap up this TTT, we have one of those songs that makes my chest tighten whenever I hear it especially when I watch the video, because the visuals that accompany the music move me to the core. The combination of Il Divo’s powerful, lyrical voices with Toni Braxton’s tone created one of the most solemn and beautiful ballads in World Cup history. This song coincides precisely with those transitional years when my perspective on soccer began to change I started seeing the sport not just as a game, but as an art form full of drama, glory, and effort. Without a doubt, soccer has become a part of me. I hope you enjoy each of these songs I’m sharing with you on this new TTT Tuesday.

Football or Soccer are some of the best sports I always watched at the television. Very intense specially when we talked about final championship games. We also shout for goal. 😄
