Lisbon memories for this #ttt
Hello, Hivers and music lovers!
Last week sorting some things at home I found a box with some old CDs that I never got rid of. Among them, was one of Madredeus from the soundtrack of the movie Lisbon Story by the German director Wim Wenders. I remember when in the second half of the 90s my husband who was my boyfriend at the time played the movie for the first time. I immediately fell in love with Lisbon without having been there and with Teresa Salgueiro's voice. I was already in love with my boyfriend/husband in case clarification is needed 😆.
Since I found the CD, I knew I would make a #ttt with my favorite songs from the album, but then it occurred to me that I should accompany the post with some photos and memories of when several years later in 2010 to be precise, I could finally visit Lisbon. And I was able to walk its streets and contemplate the breathtaking views from its viewpoints. And although on that trip, I couldn't go to listen to Fado because we were traveling with my son, who was only 6 years old at the time, the music of Madredeus accompanied me.
Madredeus is a Portuguese music group formed in 1985 and although it exists today its members are not the same as in its beginnings. Upon start, they had the voice of the young Teresa Salgueiro, a Fado singer. Fado is a traditional Portuguese music. The first time I listened to her in the Wim Wenders film, I was enchanted by her voice and that made me want to listen to more of Madredeus and Fado.
The album to which the songs I include in this #ttt belong is called AINDA.
Tune 1 - Madredeus - Céu da mouraria
This first song, Céu da Mouraria, for me is what Lisbon is like. I listen to it and I imagine myself in one of the many viewpoints of the city like the Miradouro da Graça or the Miradouro do Castelo de São Jorge of which I wrote a post some time ago.
Tune 2 - Madredeus - Alfama
The next song is called Alfama like the oldest district of the city.
The streets of Alfama are full of magic and charming corners. Getting lost in its streets and walking through them is a delight. You could say that this is the home of Fado.
And here are a couple more pictures as a souvenir of my visit to Lisbon.
Tune 3 - Madredeus - Guitarra
And from the steep streets of Alfama, you are suddenly surprised by breathtaking views like this one.
And I can imagine that view and the life in that old part of town when I hear the third song, I bring you this #ttt. Guitarra.

It's the story of a sound engineer who goes to shoot a movie in Lisbon at the request of a director friend and in the process, he shows the city of which he is captivated throughout the story.

Oho, another set of good music, Céu da Mouraria is like a lullaby song for me. And the Guitarra is like some background music in a movie, especially the long intro og instrument.

Wow - loving this #ttt post. The music is fantastic - what a lovely voice she has and it sits so well with the classical guitar. I've never heard of the film or the band, but I'm very intrigued now ! I'm loving how it then drew you to the city - thats great ! It looks stunning there.

Lisbon looks sooo beautiful, it must have been awesome seeing all the sights! I've never heard Madredeus, I love it when artists bring out the feel of their home country in their music. I particularly enjoyed the second song - Alfarma, the song as well as the playful video is just great! Thank you for the intro, I'm always looking for new artists as I play music while working on my computer. I will add her to my playlist.

Lisbon is a lovely city. Madredeus is a well-known musical group of traditional Portuguese music, but the singer is no longer Teresa Salgueiro. However, she has continued her solo career. I'm glad you liked the music ♡
