Today I decided to show you some cassette tapes that I've kept since I was a teenager and what are my favorite songs in each of them.

Such a great time: recording music from the radio - many times the music had already started and I recorded anyway - putting together playlists, choosing the cover with some of my drawings, the record of magazines or flyers. I miss that more analog and artisanal time, the time of things was different. Now I'm researching prices for a walkman or a sound system, to put on the bedside table, and finally listen to my songs.

BLACK SABBATH - I DON'T KNOW THE ALBUM, TAPE RECORDED BY A FRIEND, LOL

I decided to talk about this song before the others because it is the most experimental, the craziest, the most psychedelic, the most poetic, and the saddest of the four that I chose for this post. Perhaps the least known as well. I value that very much. Just like the others listed below, which are very perfect too, more pop, more cheerful, anyway, I think there is room for everything because good music is something subjective and infinite. I was raised by parents who listened to vinyls: jazz, samba, Brazilian popular music. Through TV shows I started to like rap - Public Enemy Snap, Naughty By Nature - pop (not much, lol, just Madonna) and, of course, rock. I had an adolescence enjoying a lot of house music and rock. This song, "Air Dance", by Black Sabbath, made me super sad, but that good sadness, that you cry and it gives you that feeling of being alive, of clearing your emotions, and then it gets fast and really crazy, very surfing I think. I also love surf, music, lol. Maybe next post? Listen it up!

THE CURE - RECORDED TAPE

Another band that I listened to a lot and traveled. Without a doubt my favorite song has always been "A Forest". 80s kid, lol 🦇🦇🦇

THE POLICE - GREATEST HITS

Seeing the video now, with the scenes of english people on the street, punks and goths, it gave a contrast with the feeling I had listening to The Police. I think I was about 14 years old and their music made me feel connected with surf, sports and sunny music. It coincides with the time I started smoking weed 😆, so it made a lot of sense and it was pretty good. It's hard to choose a song, this is one of the few albums that I listen to in its entirety. My favorites are "Roxanne", "Walking on The Moon", "Spirits in the Material World" and "Message in A Bottle", which has a very good vibe. I love the reggae grooves that The Police have.

ROLLING STONES - FLASHPOINT

I've always loved the Rolling Stones and it was really nice to be able to buy a cassette tape of theirs, look at the cover art and feel the spirit of this live recorded work. I just did the math, if the album is from 1991, I was probably 13 years old, maybe I bought it later, I don't remember. I confess that I had my favorites too: "Miss You" - I always loved this song A LOT -, "Between a Rock and a Hard Place", which I always thought was very good for dancing. He also loved "Sex Drive" and loved the video. Listening to it now, I think I also like 'Little Red Rooster', very bluesy. I think they play blues very well, I see that it's a constant influence of the band, so I have to mention an album by RS that has some wonderful blues and that I'm completely in love with: Beggars Banquet!

FITAS CASSETES DA ADOLESCÊNCIA

Hoje decidi mostrar algumas fitas cassetes que guardo desde a adolescência e quais são minhas músicas favoritas em cada uma delas.

Que época boa: gravar música do rádio - muitas vezes a música já tinha começado e eu gravava mesmo assim - montar playlists, escolher a capinha com algum desenho meu o recorde de revistas ou flyers. Sinto bastante saudade dessa época mais analógica e artesanal, o tempo das coisas era outro. Agora estou pesquisando preços de walkman ou um som mesmo, para pôr na mesa de cabeceira, e finalmente escutar as minhas músicas.

BLACK SABBATH - NÃO SEI O DISCO, FITA GRAVADA POR UMA AMIGA, RS

Resolvi falar desta música antes das outras porque ela é a mais experimental, a mais doida, a mais psicodélica, a mais poética, e a mais triste das quatro que eu escolhi para este post. Talvez a menos conhecida também. Eu valorizo muito isso. Assim como as outras listadas abaixo, que são muito perfeitas também, mais pop, mais alegres, enfim, acho que tem espaço para tudo pois música boa é algo subjetivo e infinito. Eu fui criada por pais que ouviam vinis: jazz, samba, música popular brasileira. Pelos programas de TV comecei a gostar de rap - Public Enemy Snap, Naughty By Nature - pop (não muito, rs, só Madonna) e, claro, rock. Tive uma adolescência curtindo muita house music e rock. Essa música, "Air Dance", do Black Sabbath, me deixava super triste, mas aquela tristeza boa, que você chora e dá aquela sensação de estar viva, de dar uma limpada nas emoções, e depois ela fica rápida e bem doida, bem surf eu acho. Outra banda que eu ouvia muito e viajava. Sem dúvida minha música favorita sempre foi "A Forest". Adolescente dos anos 80, rs. 🦇🦇🦇

Acho que eu tinha uns 14 anos e achava muito música de surf, de esportes e de sol. Coincide com a época em que comecei a fumar maconha 😆, então fazia muito sentido e era bem bom. Difícil escolher uma música, este é um dos poucos discos que ouço meio que inteiro. Minhas favoritas são "Roxanne", "Walking on The Moon", "Spirits in the Material World" e "Message in A Bottle", que tem uma levada muito boa. Adoro as levadas de reggae que o The Police tem.

Acho que eles tocam blues muito bem, vejo que é uma influência constante da banda, então tenho que citar um álbum dos RS que tem uns blues maravilhosos e pelo qual eu sou completamente apaixonada: Beggars Banquet!
