My friend @uwelang, who is involved in music on Hive, recently complained that I hadn't written a post about electronic music in a long time. Today is a very good opportunity to make it up to him. Why today of all days? Because exactly 30 years ago today, “Insomnia” by Faithless was released. It's one of the best house songs in history, and I still enjoy listening to it today. The single was released on November 27, 1995, and can be found on the band's debut album Reverence, which was released on April 15, 1996. I think it's one of the best debut albums in electronic music.
The longer version of the single is not suitable for radio. There were three versions of the single, of which only the official radio version was played in the usual media. What do you think of this song? I like it and always have.
Mein Freund @uwelang, der sich auf Hive für Musik engagiert, hat sich letztens darüber beschwert, dass ich seit Langem keinen Beitrag über elektronische Musik mehr geschrieben habe. Heute ist eine sehr gute Gelegenheit, mich bei ihm zu revanchieren. Warum ausgerechnet heute? Weil genau an diesem Tag vor 30 Jahren „Insomnia” von Faithless veröffentlicht wurde. Es ist eines der besten House-Lieder der Geschichte und ich höre es auch heute noch gerne. Die Single erschien am 27. November 1995 und ist auf dem Debütalbum Reverence der Band zu finden, das am 15. April 1996 veröffentlicht wurde. Ich finde, es ist eines der besten Debütalben der elektronischen Musik.
Die längere Version der Single ist nicht radiotauglich. Es gab drei Versionen der Single, von denen nur die offizielle Radio-Version in den üblichen Medien gelaufen ist. Wie findet ihr dieses Lied? Ich mag es und habe es immer gemocht.
