We all know how important is the soundtrack for a movie, how the people in charge of giving the characteristic sound to a movie end up exploiting their ideas to make it a strong point that can serve inside and outside the movie perfectly. To mention, we can talk about movies with a great sountrack like Interstellar, Challengers, Lalaland, Mamma Mia and so on, but those are songs for movies, to fit perfectly with the feeling that the movie wants to transmit at that moment or, in the case of Mamma Mia, it's a movie for the songs. Now, with albums completely made for movies that end up being incredibly good, which ones can you remember? Here's a short list to refresh your memory

Metro Boomin and Spiderverse, the first Spiderverse movie had already set the bar too high with Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee, how could we improve? The producers of the movie thought and for that, they hired one of the best rap producers in history, the great Metro Boomin, who besides being passionate about music, turned out to be passionate about the arachnid that with a clear idea gave us an incredible album that, in lyrics is not very important but in rhythms and in tune with the movie, is something that you could revisit and get a new “favorite song” and nobody would reproach you, since all of them are a hit. Among so many, my favorite, Humingbird with James Blake.

Pharrell Williams and Despicable Me, we all at some point in our lives listened to Happy, that was a worldwide phenomenon, and this started Pharrell Williams to continue making the songs for this saga of children's movies. This is not new for the producer, as he has also worked on choosing the soundtrack for some games such as nba 2k15, but with the last Despicable Me movie he released a song that is not only trending in tiktok, but it is also a song that doesn't make sense that it is so good for what the movie is about. As an aside, I want to mention at this point the soundtrack album for the second Minions movie, which has artists like Tyler the creator, brokehampton, Kali Uchis, thundercat, tame impala, HER and St Vincent among others.

Bando Stone and Childish Gambino, I may have already touched on this topic several times, but it is truly historic that one of the most important artists of the contemporary era (and my favorite artist) is retiring from music with an album made for a movie where he himself will be the protagonist. And the interesting thing is not only that, but also that the album has several surprises, like Lithonia being a very 2000's punk reminiscent of bands like Blink 182 or Green Day, and other types of songs with beautiful instrumentals that last up to seven minutes. And well, unlike the previous examples, this is the only album that still has no movie, but that just means that, like Metro boomin and Pharrell, Donald Glover managed to make an album for a movie that works perfectly without its audiovisual counterpart.

Todos sabemos de lo importante que es el soundtrack para una película, de cómo los encargados de darle el sonido característico a una película terminan explotando sus ideas para hacer de eso un punto fuerte que pueda servir dentro y fuera de la película a la perfección. Por mencionar, podemos hablar de películas con un sountrack grandioso como el de interstellar, Challengers, Lalaland, Mamma Mia y demás, pero esas son canciones para películas, para que acople perfectamente con el sentimiento que quiere transmitir la película en ese momento o, en el caso de Mamma Mia, es una película para las canciones. Ahora, con álbumes completamente hechos para películas que terminan siendo increíblemente buenos, ¿Cuáles puedes recordar? Aquí una pequeña lista para refrescar tu memoria

Metro boomin y el Spiderverse, la primera película de Spiderverse ya había dejado la vara demasiado alta con Sunflower de Post Malone y Swae Lee, ¿cómo podríamos mejorar? Pensaron los productores de la película y para eso, contrataron a uno de los mejores productores de rap en la historia, el grandioso metro boomin, que además de ser un apasionado a la música, resulto ser un apasionado del arácnido que con una idea clara nos regaló un álbum increíble que, en letra no tiene mucha importancia pero en ritmos y sintonía con la película, es algo que podrías revisitar y conseguirte con una nueva “canción favorita” y nadie te reprocharía, ya que todas son un hit. Entre tantas, mi favorita, Humingbird con James Blake.

Pharrell Williams y Mi Villano Favorito, todos en algún momento de nuestra vida escuchamos Happy, eso fue un fenómeno mundial, y esto dio partida a que Pharrell Williams siguiera haciendo las canciones para esta saga de películas para niños. Esto no es nuevo para el productor, ya que también ha trabajado en escoger el soundtrack de algunos juegos como por ejemplo nba 2k15, pero con la última película de despicable me sacó una canción que no solo está en tendencia en tiktok, sino que también es una canción que no tiene sentido que sea tan buena para lo que significa la película. Aparte, quiero mencionar en este punto el álbum del soundtrack de la segunda película de los Minions, que tiene a artistas como Tyler the creator, brokehampton, Kali Uchis, thundercat, tame impala, HER y St Vincent entre otros.

Bando Stone y Childish Gambino, puede que ya haya tocado este tema varias veces, pero es sinceramente histórico que uno de los artistas más importantes de la época contemporánea (y mi artista favorito) se retire de la música con un álbum hecho para una película donde él mismo será protagonista. Y lo interesante no es simplemente eso, sino que además el álbum tiene varias sorpresas, como Lithonia siendo un punk muy del año 2000 que recuerda a bandas como Blink 182 o Green Day, y otro tipo de canciones con instrumentales preciosos que llegan a durar hasta siete minutos. Y bueno, a diferencia de los anteriores ejemplos, este es el único álbum que aún no tiene película, pero eso solo quiere decir que, al igual que Metro boomin y Pharrell, Donald Glover logró hacer un álbum para una película que funciona perfectamente sin su contraparte audiovisual.

Oh those are songs that can never lose their magic to me. Especially Happy. I even danced to it two days ago and sang at the top of my lungs.

De canciones para películas en efecto recuerdo Mamma Mia, Abba nunca pasa de moda, y me parece que hicieron una buena adaptación de sus canciones, tanto que terminé disfrutando mucho más de las canciones que de la trama en sí.
