My Actifit Report Card: September 3 2024 - BURN It Down
Yesterday we talked about Burning HIVE to pump it. And now again!
I want Hive to pump and sending a portion of our rewards to @null may help. Or maybe not. If you don't think it will help, or if you have a better idea please let me know. I'm open to hearing about all ways to pump HIVE and also ways to make the platform and blockchain better in general.
Avenged Sevenfold is a metal or hard rock band who have had some major hits over the last 15 years or so. Burn It Down is one of them. I think it changes tempo too much but it's not a bad song. I just like the faster parts.
Language Alert! A few F bombs are in here.
How to automatically Burn HIVE
Go here on peakD:
https://peakd.com/me/referrals
I don't know why reward beneficiaries are on this page but they are.
Click the grey button labeled
- ADD BENEFICIARY
and add the @null account. Give it just 5% of your rewards, or whatever you want. IMAGINE if EVERYONE did THIS!
My Activity
today was taking that daily nightly walk that I do nearly every day. It was slightly chilly so the light white hoodie went on. I got over 8K which is an okay number
Have a nice day and BURN SOME HIVE!!! 🔥🔥🔥

You are doing good work by burning Hive
If someone downvotes a post, does it mean that they are sending some Hive back to null as well?
Good Question, thanks for asking!
No, a downvote redistributes the reward pool but doesn't send any of it to null to be burned.
If someone downvotes a post, then the percentage of the daily reward pool that would have been given to the author of that post after 7 days decreases. Everyone else's post getting rewarded on the day the downvoted post would have paid out gets rewarded a tiny fraction of the reward that was removed by the downvoter.
So the downvote only affects the distribution of the daily reward pool. That pool is still funded by whatever amount the code is set to create from HIVE printed out of thin air. A downvote does not affect how much HIVE is created on any given day, just the way that reward is distributed among all the posts coming due for rewards on that day.
In the process of us getting our author rewards, we can set up beneficiaries who will get a certain percent of our rewards. I give 5% of my rewards to null which destroys some of the the HIVE that would come to me. But 100% of My rewards and everyone else's rewards are created out of thin air every day, which is one part of the inflation problem we have with HIVE, as supply is mostly going UP. If we burn some of our reward, we still get the rest of the reward, which is more than any other social media poster gets (On Facebook, Instagram, X etc. they get zero!) and we may help raise the price of HIVE since burning some of our reward which comes from inflation will therefore reduce inflation.
It's a bit technical but I hope that helps! :)
I got that right
Thank you
